Has anyone managed to use an Abba skylift on their T700?

I've bought their fitting kit but the cup cannot go over the bolt head as it sits between two flats in the frame. Abba have responded saying they don't understand as they've sold kits without having any complaints before.

They have offered to manufacture a fitment to sit in the frame but I'm unsure if that's going to damage it.

Or am I being stupid?
