I'm happy to announce Camel ADV is now a dealer for MSC steering dampers! MSC is an Australian company that's been designing and building dampers since 1995. I run one on our T7 and it's been absolutely amazing. You don't need to be riding sand dunes or ridiculous rock gardens to benefit from a damper. They make a huge difference in bike stability when riding in desert 2 track, ruts, roots and of course rocks. The damper on my T7 saved my a$$ several times during the very sandy and rocky Virginia City Grand Prix race in May.

You don't need to remove the upper triple clamp to install the MSC damper!

You can check them out on our site here: MSC Moto T7 Steering Damper

I've got one of these. Very nice unit. I was going to post a thread and do a review but never got around to it. But here's a mini review:

Good points:

Easy and neat install without having to replace bar mounts (compared to Scotts).

Cheaper, much cheaper especially for us Australians given how bad our dollar is at the moment.

Single knob adjuster - 20 clicks. Works really well from soft to hard on surfaces from roads to sand. No faffing about with multiple adjustments.

Bad points:

When installed the knob is recessed a bit and kind of fiddly to reach. (a T7 specific problem)

Took ages to arrive. And I live 40 minutes from where it's made. Possibly only a problem if like me you order direct from the manufacturer rather than a stockist.

Thanks Cory for adding this to your products. Has anyone tried mounting this with the Acerbis tank? Looking at the space in front of the tank, I have  a feeling there might be a conflict?

I have one fitted. The damper just touches the tank but I can live with that. I did have to file the back of the adjuster to clear the tank.

Have a look at my posts in the tank upgrade thread.

Funny thing is, that's actually a British term I've adopted over the years.

The Dinkum Aussie version would be 'fart-arse'

eg:

"No fart-arsing about with multiple adjustments"
