20,000 mls and i found play in the swinging arm bearings , not much but enough for an mot fail .due in november. so out with my sky lift (there be another story) and removed the swinging arm in about an hour. i found the bearings to have a surprising amount of grease  and very clean , not bad.   i have purchased 4 bearings .oem is 3. one of the pics shows the side play adjuster.quite a simple thing really but does the job.

fitted new bearings to the swinging arm today. i fitted 4 bearings instead of the oem 3. there seemed no reason not to. the bearings i bought included seals ( 2rs) because i thought there might be a dirt/fluids ingress to the bearings . this proved to be groundless. the bearings and journal where spotlessly clean and had plenty of grease. so you have no need to strip and grease unless you have issues.

pulling the old bearings out proved a right pain in the ass because i have never invested in a blind bearing puller set. i over came this ,after much head scratching,by filing a washer so it would fit ,sideways, through the bearing and then turn to fit behind the bearing. a bolt was then dropped through the washer and fitted with various sockets and hey presto out they came. a little heat from a heat gun was also applied .

a word of warning....do not try to knock the bearings out. i tried and found it virtually impossible and you will end up causing damage.
