No neutral light, bike won’t start!

I’ve had a look through the posts and can’t see anything…

I stopped to fill up with fuel in my way home tonight and on knocking the bike into neutral didn’t get the green light in the dash, didn’t think much about it until I went to move off and still no light… and wouldn’t turn over : (

wiggled the wires behind the clutch lever and got the light in momentarily and it fired up, now it’s gone out again… anyone experienced this? Any thoughts?

Sounds like a loose connection, sticky switch and/or a loose ground. On the last page , #472, is the wiring schematic you can use to trace down the neutral indicator light (#53) and clutch switch (#74) wiring.

Before ripping anything apart, give everything a squirt with wd/electrolube first. Even jetwashing can play on the electrics until it’s dry.  @wardylondon also had issues with electrics today most likely due to a quick cold snap.

Funnily enough first thing I did when I got home was give the micro switch behind the lever a good soaking with wd40… seems to be working again now 🤔

I ride all year all weather so it’s possible it was just cold and wet… 🤷🏻‍♂️
