my bike has now done nearly 25,000 miles and is time for its major service, mainly valves clearances. i decided to take it to my local main dealer for various reasons but its going to cost me about £600.  5 1/2 hrs workshop time. am now  fully engaged saving a few coins.

right, 24,000  ml service carried out at 25,000 mls at main stealers.

no major issues. chain and pads on their way out.

valve clearances all within tolerance so not adjusted.

i suppose its all good news especially the valve clearances.

not good news for my wallet though.

But good to go for the next 25000 mls.👍 I think costs per mile are not bad at all.

whether the clearances will last another 24,000 mls , i doubt it .. they measured middle to lower tol. but who knows what they were set at at the factory . i have a feeling they have bedded in and will probably not alter....ever ???? fingers crossed.

just for reference :-

parts cost £100 at main dealer prices.

labour cost £382

vat £96
