Acerbis Breather Hose or Vent Valve?

I'm fortunate, an Acerbis Tank came with the bike. So did a vent valve on the filler cap. Having never seen one let alone owned one before, are they beneficial over a breather hose? One advantage I can see in favour of having a hose it that the cap has somewhere to dangle while filling up. Otherwise I wouldn't know any better. Will it piss petrol everywhere when I drop the bike? Does it get blocked? Which works best for you?

I used to run them of several WR450s without issue.

Alcohol! No good story starts with a salad.

You could use a hose if you wanted to still connect back to the charcoal filter. Or just do away with it all and get the acerbis locking cap.
