Front sprocket Nut

Question

Hey all. Got defeated today. Wanted to change my front sproc to 16T bit no joy with my socket and long wrench. 
waiting for an impact wrench now. 
my question,

do i loctite the nut upon installing?

No, torque to spec and hammer the flange(?) into the little detent on the shaft. Curious why you can't get the existing nut loose though? Have you tried more leverage, like a pipe sleeved over your ratchet handle? The force you're going to get from the impact can be done with a long enough lever and said lever can be made out of almost anything...

I know. I tried to use 1/2 a crutch as leverage to no avail. Pulled my back playing twister from on top the rear brake lol. Front brake was velcroed too. Anyhoo will attack it again later on probably when ill need to adjust the chain.

Strong impact tool is your friend here.  Battery Dewalt unit easily zipped the nut loose on mine. Without impact tool, the amount of force needed is tremendous.

I vote for no need for locktite on nut, as the tabs bent over nut will make it impossible to loosen up.
