Best way to wire a Garmin XT2?

Tore

Recommended Posts

As the title says: what is the best way to wire a garmin XT2 to a 2023 Tenere?

Are all the aux connectores equiped with a fuse? If not - which ones are?

And which connector is best suited for GPS wiring, saving the bigger more juicy wires for heated grips for later...

Thanx!

Are the no 2 pin connectors on the 2023 model? I can only find one 3 pin connector on each side...

Hard to see in the potato cam pic. I doubt it’s not there though… mine was under a fair bit of tape.

What year is yours? I suspect the oem usb and abs switch is taking up the 2 pins...

3pin connector or the two pin connector.  Wire it to the same 2 wires as the 12 volt socket (Cigarette lighter).   Either are fine.  Wire it up and go ride!!  Tracks, NOT routes, are your friend.  Easy  to build routes on GAIA and then transfer the tracks to your Garmin Explore app. There are some good videos on youtube showing how to make a Routes on "My maps" which is part of your google maps.

I’ve got a 2023 model and I failed to find the connectors as well. That said I have pretty much no idea when it comes to electrics. I’ve rather embarrassingly asked if my local dealer will do it for whilst on its first service in a couple of weeks.

If you do manage it, a pictorial “how to” for the 2023 model would be appreciated.

I've got a '23 model and recently installed a hard-wired XT2. There is a 2-pin connector; iirc the positive wire is brown and black while the solid black is ground. Should be a little further to left from the 3-wire doodad you're holding in the pic. I cut into those, spliced in the XT2 leads, soldered, and used some waterproof heatshrink to protect it.
