1986 Yamaha Fazer 700

This story began back in 1993.  I bought a 1986 Fazer 700.  My son was born in 1994.  I sold the bike in 1995 or 1996.  That’s the only bike I’ve ever regretted selling.  Oh and my 990 ktm.  LOL.

Pic shows my son at about 1 years old sitting with me on the bike.   He is 29 now.

Picked up this 1986 Fazer from the original owner today.   6200 miles.  Im super stoked to add the bike into the Yamabarn!!!

Nice find!

I have a 1985 FJ600 that I bought new. Yamaha made some great bikes bikes.

I have a similar photo of my nephew on his first birthday sitting with me on the FJ600.  He's in his thirties with four kids of his own now.

My buddy has an 1986 Fazer that he bought in 1992 with 1400 miles on it.

They look like an excellent cruiser.  A cruiser with reliability, that's a plus.

Wow, that's incredible! It sounds like you have a fantastic piece of motorcycle history with your 1985 FJ600. Yamaha indeed has a legacy of producing some amazing bikes. It must be so nostalgic to have a photo of your nephew on his first birthday sitting with you on that bike, and it's heartwarming to hear that he's now in his thirties with a family of his own. Motorcycles have a way of connecting generations and creating lasting memories. Do you still ride your FJ600, or is it more of a cherished keepsake now?

@baarsofia42 I still ride the FJ600 and it's as ready to undertake a long trip as when it was new.  That said, parts are getting harder to find and I am purposefully trying to keep the mileage down to conserve its life.
