Got an 85nm K Tech uprated spring for my World Raid for my 90kg with luggage.
i live on an island with no suspension specialists.
could somebody please advice what they do with Compression and Rebound when uprating springs?
ill sort out sag and preload once i install it.

thanks.

@ninot7 Here's my settings at the same weight as you, but utilizing a 90nm spring. Might get you close to what you need?

Was that on a standard T7 or World Raid? Mine is a WR and suspension clicks are different, wider range.
am just wondering in terms comp and rebound whether they need to be softer or harder in general after installing a stiffer spring, just a rough guide.

No suspension expert, but if I were to take a guess; Since the spring is now stiffer and able to do more work, you could probably go slightly softer on compression (takes more energy now to compress the spring) and slower on the rebound (spring wants to return to its natural length with greater force than before, so might have to slow it down a little bit more).

The spring is there to take the weight of the rider+bike and keep that weight within a window that we riders call fork/shock travel. And then the purpose of the dampener (the oil-circuit where the comp and rebound valves sit) is to smooth out the behaviour of the spring so that we can control or prevent the system oscillating. And since one component of this damper-spring system now changed, probably some adjustment to the other component will make some sense too in order to get to the same exact behavior as you had with the old spring. But I could not tell you how much, and I think the answer is to go out and try it on some bumpy patch you have been on a bit before and see if you can sense a difference from just the baseline.

Stay with the stock settings first. Then, only change one parameter at one time and do subsequent test rides on the same road/trail.

There is no "correct" suspension setting for your weight. It all depends on riding style and preference.

The stiffer spring accounts for your weight, and thus should bring compression and rebound damping in its normal operating conditions - so, stock settings should be a good starting point.

In general, the harder spring will mainly affect ride height, and @712moto 's got it right: It exerts higher rebound forces to the system, so you might dial in a little bit more rebound damping, but not without prior test riding the stock settings first.

Regarding comp damping, I wouldn't touch it at first. Check if the rear feels too stiff and bumpy now over rough sections. If so, reduce comp damping, BUT also might reduce rebound damping.

I bought the RaceTech suspension bible half a year ago.

Highly recommended for in-depth understanding of suspension.

I'm in the US,  so standard T7.  Moved this from General Discussion.
