Spam attacks

This morning,  about 4 hours ago, the forum was attacked by spam bots that flooded the forum with ads for quickbooks and the like. At last count I banned 11 newly created user names that all had multiple posts that needed deleting.  Thank you to all that reported these and hopefully I've got the board all cleaned up, but if I missed one,  please don't hesitate to hit that report button.

Well said. I reported one of the posts as spam as soon as I saw it early this morning. And then, when I saw there were actually many, many of them, I thought "AZJW's going to be busy this morning".

There are some very poor people on this planet that can only dream of living the beautiful western lifestyle we enjoy.  So I don't begrudge them trying to pull themselves out of poverty, but am happy to see them squashed like Bugs.

5 January Update- I deleted 210 more spam posts as of 0730 MST. 45 reported spam posts in 3 hours has got to be some sort of record! Damn spam bots!

Thanks for this.  It could've been worse, but while suffering a bit of insomnia this morning around 0300, I was banning and deleting these in almost realtime as they were being posted. Great fun when one can't sleep!
