Official rear rack - mounting brackets - help

Lewie

Question

I’ve picked up a rear rack (model BW3-F48D0-00-00) but it’s missing the pillion mounts- bolts and spacers

the bolts and spacers are no issue but the pillion mounts could be difficult

Thoughts on possibly cutting it down just after it bolts on by the seat

i presume the ‘arms’ are to accommodate the weight of the top box?
this is litrally what I have

You can cut the front arms of the rear rack. From mechanical point of view they have no sense.

I have cut them from the beggining and I have use the top case and the side panniers at full load for off-road and on-road trips. It was three years ago and no problme at all.

Any one have the spec of the bolts - I believe they are M8 but not sure on the length

Also the spacer on the non exhaust size - I’m guessing 35mm - looks to be 18mm hollow spacer?
