davedelray

Question

Greetings brothers and sisters, New T7 owner.    ? Basic safety check or get the tools out.  Have service manual and guided by common sense and some mechanical ability, however, airing on the side of caution, What exactly is common checking procedure of steering assembly at 600 mile first diy  T7  service?    On center stand,  do you  do you wiggle and jiggle the forks for slop or clunk in addition to moving bars and forks to feel for loose, tight or normal steering?   Do you remove steering stem nut, upper bracket, upper ring nut, and then torque, loosen and re torque  lower ring nut?   Or... As per Service manual,  Am I supposed to get better aquainted with my new girl so early on by taking apart the front end to properly attempt this procedural check?
