Ca springtime ride

While visiting family in the Land of Fruits and Nuts, I decided to take a solo ride up my favorite road, Hwy 245 out of Woodlake.  I hit the Mountain House Inn for lunch, then down Dry Creek Rd., dodging all the idiots who drive like they're the only one on the road and set my sights for Three Rivers to take some drone shots of my Dad's old place. My secondary mission was to get some world famous Black Walnut ice cream at Reimers.  Sadly after waiting a bit in an over crowded dining area,  I was told they were out of my beloved Black Walnut!  Oh well, maybe next trip.

With a big storm moving in from the west, I figured I'd pressed my luck enough and headed for the SIL house. Last shot is of my bike and the nephew's C8 that yours truly got to drive. I'd be all about getting one, but climbing in/ out of that thing is almost as hard as paying for it!

Sweet.  Ride (vice truck/trailer) in from AZ or is that blasphemous to ask 😄

I've yet to do a long ride on the T7 and have memories of monkey butt from touring on my '95 GPz1100 before I got a Corbin seat for it - pure torture!   I remember loading her up in the truck for trips to Mammoth 'cause I couldn't bear the thought of enduring the Hwy 395 drone up.  Still have the GPz... she's a garage queen now with 38K miles on her, but fires right up every time I ask her to.

Not blasphemous to ask,  with weather moving in, wife in tow, arthritic hands, tennis elbow, back issues,  yes TMI I know, I trucked it. The T7 rode from AZ in the back of that behemoth dually in the background of the last pic. The upside is I've put over 500 miles ( over half of which were twisties) in two days so it's all good. Hoping for decent weather early next week to push that total to 1K before heading home. My long haul days were pretty much done when I sold my FJR that saw a IBA SS and many 500 mile days. No more straight slabs and droning along for hours on end for this guy anymore.

Yep, good riding within reasonable reach where you are.  Sorry our weather is screwing with the weekend 😐, but enjoy the rest of your stay.

A few more from yesterday.  I don't believe I've seen the foothills any greener, absolutely beautiful!   The downside is when it drys out, it'll be prime real estate for brushfires. Lots of fire breaks in the area,  but pretty much useless if the wind blows hard.
