Best + economical OBD2 h/w + s/w combo?

Sakster

Question

I was wondering if their is a recommended OBD2 h/w + s/w that works especially well for the T7 for diagnosis and clearing codes.

Also the most economical combination to achieve this goal?

I use one similar to this one, along with the Torque app on my phone:

OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner

It works on my bikes (with an adapter) as well as my cars.  The adapter I use for the bikes is:

SuperOBD for Euro5 Adapter 6 Pin

I think for occasional use almost any OBD reader that uses the ELM327 chip or clone will be fine, which is pretty much all of them that you see. Search for 'elm327 obd' and you should be fine. Like @Hollybrook I also used Torque. You can probably use the free version just fine. Car Scanner is another one. Generally you start paying premiums when you want always-present hardware or software that does more than just read and clear codes.

And tangent, how's the riding around Yucatan? We're in Belize now and will be heading up that way in a month or so.

My US (i.e. made in Japan) 2022 Euro5 has a 6-pin OBD2 port.  I think the earlier Euro4 bikes may have a 4-pin version.
