I will add this detail, my saleman was told they are being distributed in the order that preorder was recieved.

 

"Excellent news, Yamaha has confirmed that your 2021 Yamaha Tenere 700 is scheduled for a May delivery. Distribution is based on the order of the deposits received from the Early Deposit Program (“EDP”). Your EDP participation is paying off. You will be the first in our region to be riding a 2021 Tenere."

If you're getting them in Canada in a couple weeks, then they should be arriving to the States the same time, I'd imagine? Fingers crossed. This is good news and stoked for you for sure!

I don't think so, no even official EDP program in the states yet. This is the e-mail I got from my dealer in Ontario, straight from Yamaha. 

 

"Dear Yamaha Dealer:

The first 2021 Yamaha Ténéré 700 units produced for the Canadian market have
been crated and shipped from our factory in Iwata, Japan! These first few
hundred units are slated to arrive in dealerships during the month of May –
earlier than the original ‘Summer 2020’ timing we communicated last year.
Unit deliveries will be made in the same order as when deposits were placed
during the Early Deposit Program (EDP), underscoring the importance of the
priority delivery incentive. Your DSM will notify which customers will
receive their units in the first shipment for your preparations. Now is the
time to notify customers their Ténéré 700 will arrive next month and inquire
about accessory or apparel additions as well as financing options through
Yamaha Financial Services. However, due to production limitations related to
COVID-19, there are approximately 150 early deposit customers required to
wait for a second shipment later this summer to receive their Ténéré 700.
The second production run will fill the remaining early deposit orders and
supply a limited number of dealer stock. Given the current global situation,
Yamaha is hesitant to commit to a confirmed date of arrival for the second
shipment. We are cautiously optimistic about delivering all EDP deposit
orders in our originally stated timeline of Summer 2020.
Moving forward, complications with supply chains have forced Yamaha to limit
production of the Ténéré 700. Some dealer booking orders will not be
fulfilled in 2020 and our original volume forecast has been reduced. Yamaha
will be in contact as more information is made available. "

Congrats!  

I've heard nothing about mine so far.    
When I pre-ordered mine, the Yamaha rep was saying that there were about 220 or so ordered already, so I think I'm in the second batch.

Are you guys getting these notices directly from Yamaha?  or the Dealers? 

I have heard exactly Zero, nada, zip from yamaha Directly.
And the dealer only updates me when I call them (they never call me) so I've heard nearly nothing in the last 5 months.....

The more I see the more I think the U.S. won't see these bikes until anywhere from August to November.  They haven't even opened the order system!!!!
