prwatts 54 Posted August 9 Hi guys, I am struggling to find a compact, affordable mount to attach my Galaxy S10+ to the thin 12mm top cross bar. RAM mounts stick out too much; Others all are designed for greater than 20mm cross bar = direct to the handlebar. I saw a guy who made his own - it looked very professional - he could go commercial Any ideas please??? Peter
prwatts 54 Posted August 9 The Africa Twin has a 12mm cross bar so accessories for it will fit the T7. I found this: Africa Twin (CRF1000) - Adapter for mounting a Garmin Zumo above the panels. | 3D Printing Shop | i.materialise 3D Printed 😄

As you can see on the photo it is a cheap smartphone holder and to fill the space between the ring I have wrapped a strip of bicycle tire. It works very well also on offroad track. In the meantime I have ordered a slightly more robust product. I hope you can do something with it Nick

Rich TT 126 Posted August 9 Hi. Looks great. Could you send a link to where you bought this from please? I've seen this and although expensive(ish) it looks great and gets very good reviews. Waterproof (very important) and I like the little hood to stop the glare. But it would probably be have to mounted to the handlebars the correct way around. Wildduck 4 Posted August 12 (edited) ...tested the solution shown above and don't like it. My single solution for MTB, Racebike, Car and Motorcycle since 2 years is this. Super happy with it. Looks very minimalist and flimsy, but easy to use and keeps my iPhone XS perfect in place, also on the heavily shaking MTB rides. SP Connect - All products for quick and secure smartphone mounting SP Connect - Quick and Secure Smartphone Mounting for iPhone, Samsung and other devices with the Multi Activity Bundle, Bike Bundle, Car Bundle, Fitness Bundle I have the SP wireless charger on my Tenere (and another in my car) + SP Mirror Mount (12mm)+ 50cm USB-C to 12V connector cable (spiral) from Amazon. And I have the rain cover, although not yet used or needed. Mirror Mount DETAILS The SP ConnectTM MIRROR MOUNT lets you mount your smartphone to your scooter or motorbike in seconds. Just fasten the MIRROR MOUNT to a mirror of your scooter or crossbar of your motorcycle and you are ready to mount the SP ConnectTM PHONE CASE(or UNIVERSAL INTERFACE) by placing it on the mount and... Wireless Charging Module DESCRIPTION The SP Connect WIRELESS CHARGING MODULE can be mounted on any SP Connect mount. Just as it did without, your SP Connect Phone Case attaches in seconds with a 90 ° turn. Now all you have to do is attach this module for wireless charging to a power source (USB socket, battery, power bank, ...) and you... For longer trips I’ve used my Garmin 595, not sure if it is big for the Tenere, not yet tested. Edited August 12 by Wildduck

Motoadventure 152 Posted August 28 Hi I use both as the sat-nav is great for everyday use but Google maps is a great tool for finding places and in city centers. I have a ram ball mount on the top of the top fork and awaiting a sat-nav bracket for the bar which is a bit to close to the clocks. Cheers Mick
Motoadventure 152 Posted August 28 Hi Peter I bought a 25mm ram mount ball with a hole in the middle and a longer bolt for £2.95 from ebay and an Otterbox cover for the phone, I cut the belt clip of the otter-box drilled it and put a ram ball on the back. the phone just clips in the case. hope this is useful I could photograph and post when I get home on Friday.
