I also used the timer on the camera so I wouldn't touch it while the shot was being taken to avoid any shaking of the camera. I might invest in a remote or something to make it easier.

@CGrasRegarding remotes, I've been experimenting with something very similar to this one. On a few chilly nights I used it for manual exposures in the high desert while I was inside our nice toasty camper about 30' away. 😉

This being my first year with a proper mirrorless camera, which has manual mode but not completely manual, g that makes sense I don't know... Lol... I've made some progress and I'm pleased with the outcome so far... Have a look below at the latest shots from my ride yesterday.

Some fun pictures in here!

I enjoy photography and like combining it with motorcycling as well.

I have a "decent" but 15+ old Nikon DSLR with a bunch of lenses that I use off the bike, but on the bike I use an inexpensive Canon Elph P&S camera.  I carry it on a lanyard around my neck and stowed in a chest pocket on the left side of my jacket, so I can access it while riding.  If I drop it or have to drop it to grab the clutch the lanyard catches it.  I use an inexpensive camera as the life span on any camera used for moto-travel isn't great - water and dust and impacts and such.  I get about 2 years of use for $150 or so, then it's on to the next better P&S camera in that price range when the current one dies.

I don't really edit pictures per se, I crop them often and sometimes tweak the lighting a little, but I don't have any other editing software.  I try to take 5+ pics of any one thing to have a range of images to select the best from, and I try to compose the shot to not necessitate editing.

I've had a very small number of images published in various travel magazines - Toyota Trails and RoadRunner.

Still waiting on my Tenere but here's a few recent ones of my Strom(s) and my wife on her Strom.  These are all taken with the little Canon Elph.

Haven't been active that much lately but before the busy weeks ahead I've been out and about in the cotswolds... Here are some shots from that day... 👍 Aleks

Great topic, Great Shots!

Curious to hear if anyone has had any current or past issues with DSLR / Mirrorless and more particularly with Lenses because of the constant and possibly strong vibrations that could cause the internal elements (motors / internal lenses) to become decentered overtime?

I have been eyeing a Pelican 1485 Air Case (which I would need to see how to mount) for my lenses, but I am wondering if anyone has an alternate solution?
I saw the tank bag but I am still worried about the vibrations and the cost of having to repair/replace just one lens.

I've heard about this in different forums and foam does help... I personally have a bum bag and keep my m100 in there, doesn't touch the bike and my body thames the vibration 🤣👍🤔
