Its was towing ring that's mount under headlights.

Surely there must be a KTM rider on here somewhere that knows all about them

I think you should mount it on the back so you can tow your friends home. Yamaha's don't need towing

As an idea, the original part of XT 660 Z shall fit to Tenere. It was screwed to the standard 4 hole pattern under the lower triple clamp. So if you do not want a high front fender, you may search for this?
