When the USA and Canada search "Top Upgrades for Yamaha Tenere 700" this coming summer, this thread will be ranked high in what pops up, we have some pages like that. Anywho, this is the Tenere 700 forum so what do you early owners of the T7 consider to be the most needed/bang for buck/improvements? I would love for this thread to contain good advice, images, even vids. Especially links. Help us summer 2020 and beyond owners learn from your trail and shop findings, please. Your posts will be seen by and help literally thousands of future Yamaha Tenere 700 owners, following your years of experiences shared on the forum.

If you are a taller or even a mid-sized rider the oem T7 set up provides frustrating amounts of buffeting & noise. Many of the early T7 aftermarket windscreen offerings (Puig, Ermax, T7 Rally, Powerbronze) mostly emulated the oem shape & width, that while increasing the height of wind deflection, did little to address the other issues that are inherent in the T7 forward & upright windscreen/faring design. Skidmarx, Givi, V-Stream & more recently Madstad designed wider/reshaped windscreens in multiple heights. Here's my journey over the past 2 years in search of improved wind management for road riding combined with adjustability for off-road &…

PICS: It's easy to upload pics into a post, but your pic must be smaller than 1.5 MB. 1. bottom left of the new post, either drag in the pic or click "choose files" . 2. If you clicked "choose files" it opens your pc's or phones files where you can navigate to your pic and then click ok or choose. 3.You will see the pic upload into a small window in the bottom left. After it uploads and you can see it, click the + symbol to upload it to your post. Finish your post and click "submit" . Wasn't that easy?

Here's a quick write-up of the DMD-T865 Android Tablet. This is a tablet marketed for motorcycle riding and sold by Thork Racing, who also develops the DMD2 navigation app. At the end of the day, this is an Android device, so I'm not going to go into all the details that you can find everywhere. I want to focus on its long-term use and some of the more technical parts of it and how it compares to other tablets. At the end of the day, a lot of the specs are either vague or without a frame of reference - a "super bright" screen at 1000 nits has absolutely no meaning to most people (myself included!) unless you throw it out in the sun. First, some background. This tablet is…

Hi folks. I'm trying to install a DMD2 Remote 2 tablet controller on my handlebars. I want it to go between the OEM controller and the handlebar grip. I also have an OEM heated grip controller mounted next to the grip. I've removed the two Phillip screws from the back of the OEM controller. I would have thought the two halves of the controller would separate but they don't and I'm afraid of forcing it. Am I missing something? I can't find anything online (except that once I have it apart I have to grind off the pin that keeps the OEM from turning on the bars per Nomad Sweden video). Thanks.

Well here we are with another disassembly of something that wasn't meant to be disassembled: the Skene IQ-275 LED dimmer. We have a Baja Designs LP4 as the headlight on this bike. Since it has no built-in dimmer function, we've been using a Skene IQ-275 to dim the otherwise-blinding light for street use. Unfortunately a couple weeks ago, the dimmer failed, leaving the light at full brightness. The case is glued shut, so it needs to be cracked/cut open. It initially started coming apart really easily, but I wound up having to force it after getting it about a third of the way open. Here's what it looks like at first glance: The top left corner is where I started, and …

Title says it all... wondering if anyone has used the Mighty Max Lithium Battery - YTZ10S on their Tenere. This battery is supposed to have the same CA (not CCA) as the Antigravity ATZ-10 for almost 1/3 of the price.

Hi. Just bought a brand new 2023 T7 in Switzerland. Loving it! It could sound weird but I wouldn't mind mounting a less noisy exhaust system. Any idea/experience? Thanks !!!

So I wanted to mount my Garmin GPS And still use the Yamaha TFT screen PLUS I already added Quadlock Phone set up on my cross bar...Given those parameters I only had few options. Motology which looked pretty good. Some cheap AliExpress mounting plate I did not care for. And finally I found a made in Australia product from company called Adventure Bike Components. It was exactly what I was looking for. They sell a moderate priced plastic version and a higher end billet aluminum version. They were EASY to deal wiyth and they shipped to USA and they were mindful of trying to keep shipping cost lowISH. They both look real nice, I love CNC Shet so I went that route some pictur…

I have had an issue with the Rtech Engine cover for the euro4 T7, I could tell when mounting that the catalytic converter for the euro 4 had no space on the molded plastic, but on the website it specifically says that it includes all models from 19 to 25, si i mounted-it, it was a tight fit, but also is the OEM skid plate, yesterday I had an oil change, and I was right the single exhaust tube space did not fit the converter and burned right through. Has anyone had the same issue?

I haven't seen many photos of the genuine Yamaha rear rack yet, (even Yamaha only has one on their site!) so here's a few shots to hopefully help others make their decision. Part number BRL-F48D0-V0-00, I don't think it's changed much functionally from the earlier model. Heavy duty enough you could easily lift the entire bike with it, and it's not lightweight by any means. Install is about as easy as it gets, 0.5 hours on the instructions was accurate.

Hi just tinkering with a muffler mod off a road bike cut down 4 inches doesn't sound overly loud, a bit old school look. B&B offroad tail tidy fitted waiting on radiator guard, rear rack and side cover pannier brackets. Mitas enduro trail xt dakars on order starting to get wet and muddy here. Working on a high fender mod with a mx type fender in the same sky blue.

Hi Guys, I am about to purchase my first bike🤞 (tenure 700 2025) and I would like to upgrade the exhaust🎉. Obviously I have thought of the Akrapovic which is proposed on Yamaha's website, but I am sure there are better sounding exhaust for better prices. Therefore, if you have better ideas in terms of sound which should however remain street legal in Switzerland I am here to listen. Also, I have been proposed an exhaust which is legal but it required to change the rear lights and blinker system to make them illegal which I would rather avoid. Thanks in advance for your help which will be much appreciated. Best, Seb

I did the GYTR kit conversion with the single disc conversion and ABS removal to go along with it. I installed other parts from the GYTR kit as well These include - During this process I forgot to install the speed sensor on the front wheel. I ordered this sensor from OTR - https://www.off-the-road.de/de/neues/141551/abs-sensor-ring-tachokorrektur-yamaha-tenere-700 and I installed it. However the speed is off by 20-30 miles on my dashboard. If I go at 60 mph, then on the dash its showing as 100 mph. I used a garmin GPS to compare this. Is there any setting on the dash to adjust the wheel circumference. The front wheel from GYTR is the same size as th…

The past few weeks I have been going back and forth on the decision to go with 2WDW, Rapid Bike EVO, or VCYCLENUT for tuning. I decided to go with David (VCYCLENUT), because I previously owned a Yamaha MT-09 that was tuned by him that performed flawlessly. He is very easy to get in touch with and personable. He may not advertise it as much as 2WDW, but he has tuned a lot of T7's. He has an FTECU flash for the T7 that is good, but he recommended his Woolich Flash which results in a much smoother throttle response. I have only gotten to ride the bike for the first 50 miles after the flash due to rain... Immediate impression is I absolutely love it! The bike just feels so …

I was looking at these on ebay has anybody used something like this. Also is there any risk that these would cause worse damage than just sliding or crashing without them. Looks like a cheap protection for tip overs and slides, please let me know what you guys think.

Got a Huzar high exhaust but it’s incompatible with my indicator on a J-tech tail tidy. For those who fitted a hight exhaust with a tail tidy, which tail tidy did you use? Perhaps some micro indicators would do the trick? Any advice welcome. Cheers

I found this 27L dual fuel tank from OTR which comes with a bashplate and space to move the dash in between the tanks so there is more room for a navigation screen. I can't find anything about this tank on the internet so I was wondering if somebody already has experience with it? It's really expensive tho... https://www.off-the-road.de/en/tenere-700/bodywork/233108/fuel-tank-kit-27-litre-incl.-bash-plate-yamaha-tenere-700-black

Today I finally got in the post the tail tidy I ordered, which I was eagerly waiting on so I could install my new HP Corse slip-on. Alas, turns out, it does not fit. So annoyed right now. Had to put the old exhaust back on and do some more research. If anyone has installed a tail tidy to go with the HP Corse high exhaust, please share which one you have. I would hope to have a somewhat robust one for offroad use as well. Thank you for any and all help!

Hey all! Just wanted to go ahead and show off the acerbis 22l tank, as theres not too many of us that have one, and for those wondering, yes i do recommend it! Install was fairly straight forward, basically transferring the old hardware over to the new tank. As far as weight goes, i dont notice really anything more than a stock full tank feels, i have not noticed sloshing or any weight shifting in that aspect. I think someone had done the math with taking off the stock tank and going with plastic, it was maybe a plus 7lbs gain for an extra 1.8 gallons! not bad i say. Obviously i have to get more graphics to match my ones i had, but overall i l…

I'm looking at building a unique rear rack for my Tenere and looking for thoughts and critique. Right now, I have Rally Raid soft luggage racks and a BDCW luggage rack that replaces the passenger seat, neither of which has fared too well. The RR rack has quite a bit of rust on it. The strut that connects to the left passenger footrest rusted and broke off completely, and right now I have a piece of rebar in its place. The right side has been impacting my exhaust for a while now. It hasn't been a problem, but at some point it might be! The BDCW plate is a mess. I do put a lot of weight on it, but it has its weak points also. Here's a picture of it upside down, general…

//UPDATE 12 DECEMBER 2024// This is the final update on this blog (unless I add World Raid front tanks). I sent the bike to a local fabricator (Motofied in Milwaukee, WI) to get a rear rack and pannier setup modified. //UPDATE 09 SEPTEMBER 2024// The new tank is on, everything is plumbed, and it works! I conducted a static test today. Fuel transfer is a bit slow. It took about 3 minutes to move ~3gals from the rear to the front, and I went from flashing to 5 bars, which makes sense given the oddity of Yamaha's fuel bar system. Next up, testing while riding. The only issue here is I need to take the bike in to have the pannier racks modified to …
