45 liter Safari tank coming

Doesn't look worse than the saggy-tits-tanks KTM puts on their Adventure models 😁

Similar concept, and imho quite well integrated into the T7's shape (but I also prefer the standard look).

  • 3 weeks later...

In western Europe, we have a petrol station around every corner, so it's overkill. But I guess it's useful in other parts of the world.

Given it’s an Australian brand and we have some long stretches without fuel, the target market is probably the remote riders.

Very helpful here in Canada where good fuel can be hard to get even 3 hours north of a major city like Vancouver.

I will buy this when it becomes available. The T7 is very top heavy and especially once you add luggage to the bike. I can see myself running this half full or less most of the time but when I need the range it will be there. I was wondering when someone would build this. Game Changer!

That would give me a 782 mile range!

Your bladder would be bursting waiting for a petrol stop😂

your arse would’ve been dead 600 miles ago. 👍😂👍

Wonder what the protection is like with this. It looks like there's an outer guard bolted on to the bottom. If it's as robust as the 790/890, getting rid of crash bars would drop even more weight.

Just heard back this morning from Safari regarding the tank and pricing so here’s what they said-

I have added you to our pre-order list for information updates.

The majority of field testing has now been completed with some final design changes being implemented. We expect availability to be late Oct23.

Although we haven’t finalised the pricing of the tanks, we believe it will be in the range of A$3000 - $3500.

Regards, Wayne.

Wow on the price. 3500Aud is about the same as 3500Cad, that's approx 25% price of the bike. Absolutely a NoGo. I really hope that is an error....

Well, all things being relative, absurd fuel capacity would  come at an absurd price. .Gotta try and recover all that R&D $$ from a niche market somehow…

Lot of Rotapax or bladders can be purchased for that price!

Even a Camel tank looks good too.

Damn expensive to be sure....but how many are they gonna sell?

Under 100 in the first year maybe

1000 in three years?

10 in the first year and that will be about that. Pretty specialist kit.

I am looking to do an extended desert trip next year but will only take a 10 litre bladder to get the 600km range expected.

Where are people getting their fuel bladders?

I have been riding with a little can on the back for long trips, but I  would ideally like a fuel bladder.

I use one of the 2 gal armadillo bags from Giant Loop. It works great and comes with a funnel and self storage pouch for the funnel. Best of all it rolls up to hardly anything once you transfer the fuel.

What’s the score with these bags then? Look great but the ad says it’s not for fuel, yet the video shows fuel use.
