Are there good anchor points for the Reckless with the stock seat setup (no  SW Motech ADV rack)?

Trying to prioritize my planned accessories while I have to wait for dealer stock to arrive.

No. But it is possible to wrap the straps around and under the tail. Not ideal, but it would work.  Alternatively, you could drill and fit attachment loops.  I chose the rack as I can also fit Fuel/Water (e.g. Rotopax) to the SW-Motech Rack and have a topbox option(s).

Lugs and clamp fitted. Will allow Reckless 80 and top box to be fitted at the same time, if so inclined. The SW-Motech top box is 38-litres, not too big and will take a full face helmet.  The rotopax adaptor is needed and that screws into the centre 4 holes. (SW-Motech and Rotopax accessory needed).

Are you using any protector on the plastics under the MM R80?

I've ended up with a very similar setup, except using Givi top case.

Thinking need some contact paper or vinyl under the luggage.

Yes. The usual clear paint protector film over any area that may get abrasion, like the stuff used on cars to protect against chip damage. The V3.0 R80 has good closed cell foam, but better safe than sorry.  Undoubtedly dust and road grim will make a nice paste, but I am not too worried about having a bike with the patina of use.

Nice setup and I am glad to see it so nicely integrated. I also ordered the Reckless V3 and wanted to ask if angle /position 2 is the one you used for the harness?

Also, regarding the top case from SW Motech, what helmet are you using and what size, just to have as a reference .

I had issues with the BMW Top Cases as it would not fit my Nexx XWED 2, so I am a little skeptical before purchasing a top case without testing it with my helmet.

Helmet size is large - I'm using SHOEI Neotec II.  Fits inside the 38l SW-Motech topbox nicely.  I remember using position 2 for the R80. It is obvious when you fit it.  Topbox and R80 work together, so that gives ~120litres of storage - which is plenty for me.

Finally settled on luggage decisions and fine tuned the fitment of a Mosko Moto Reckless 80 and Giant Loop Fandango tank bag.  Using a SW Motech ADV Rack, the luggage fits perfectly.

Other extras include Rally Raid GPS mount (works superbly with the Garmin XT), Barkbusters with Storm Guards, Adventure Spec crash bars and sump guard. Finally saving my Pirelli STRs for later while I use the bike for road touring fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II.

Current setup, close to final.

Front view - stealthy luggage < width of handlebars 🙂

Luggage hangs good.

SW Motech Rack can support Givi, SW Motech top cases and Rotopax - so I am not locked into a specific solution. Very flexible. Rails are close to the bike, so R80 fits over these very well.

Straping to rack. I have used non-cam straps, but will fit stronger ones later.

Rally Raid bracket a thing of beauty.

I will fit a SW Motech ADV TRAX top case for general day-to-day use. Not sure if this will fit with the R80, but the hard case/soft luggage combo might just be ideal for extended touring.
