Tusk Top Rack

Just installed my new Tusk top rack from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. Install took about 10 minutes. Once installed the rack is VERY solid. The plate is made of thick aluminum and the mounting bars are steel. All I needed for tools to install was a T40, 6mm and 4mm Allen, and a 10mm open ended wrench. Now that it’s mounted I have to drill holes in it to mount my SHAD top case mount. I’ll add those pictures once I get that installed. For $99 this top rack is exactly what I needed.

The Tusk Top Rack is perfect for all your adventure motorcycling needs. If you have a Dual Sport Motorcycle and need to haul a little extra gear, but don’t require a Pannier Rack...

Mounted my SHAD plate. Popped on my SHAD SH29. I’ll probably get a bigger case in the future.

Can you tell me the length of the spacer with the bracket? Trying to see if this will work with the outback motortek panniers

I would also like to know the length as well, please. Looks a little wide for my giant loop coyote.

@Baggey22. I'm interested in the distance from the edge of the seat as well. Trying to figure the best setup for my Mosko R40 coupled with my soon to be delivered Adventurespec side racks. Thx.

sorry if it had been answered but I couldn't see or not seeing it as needing more coffee.

So if you ONLY ORDER the top rack, it comes with the two rails + the rack?

the RMATV video keeps on pointing me to me needing the side rack as well...

Lotta bang for the buck with the extra 70$...

Yeah, I'm a little confused, too.  Do the mounting brackets come with the rack or do they need to be ordered?  I don't want or need pannier racks.  TIA for your reply.

I am sure it is, but wanting to run a reckless system for the side pannier also Just have a top box for work commute seems to be very tempting.

having the side pannier rack kind of spoil the idea

Yes sir, if you order just the top rack it comes with the two long mounting brackets that mount to the four attachment points on both sides of the passenger seat.

We'll see if I ever do it but my idea is to have the side panniers cut off at the top and welded with brackets to bolt together so they will be removable. The bottom is already a one bolt bracket.

@Baggey22  Can you tell me how long the top plate is?  I'm wondering how well a Nelson Rigg Trails End Adventure tail bag (14”L x 11”W) will fit.  Thanks.

Best bang for the buck. My only complaint is I can't use my pillion rack with it. Without the rack I keep my tire repair kit under the pillion rack and with the pillion seat there isn't any storage.

WHY WHY WHY didnt they make it RotoPAx compatible??

Can't you add the mounting hardware?
