Hi all,

Managed to tackle this one today... Installed the quickshifter from Healtech.

First thing remove seat, small side covers and the large ones with indicators, you can only remove one side and that would be the right hand side of the bike only as there is better access there to the coil pack. When you get to this point remove one bolt from the radiator. IMG_20200829_134905.thumb.jpg.512041f4c942ae803911cd546767f53c.jpg

After removing the above bolt the radiator will need to be pushed so that it slides of the brackets as below. IMG_20200829_134909.thumb.jpg.da3a8d9f4bfc17135bfc5fbf71fd5f9c.jpg

Once this is done you can start the installation of the harness. Harness comes plug and play, one end has two 4 plugs for the two coils and one ground wire. The other end had one connector that goes into the main unit.

Below is how to install the connectors with the coils...IMG_20200829_135111.thumb.jpg.c1e8ee6e84f1ce921ae80f6f077d6ac9.jpg

Ignore my dirty engine 😅... After this has been fitted trace the cables towards the back of the bike..

IMG_20200829_143629.thumb.jpg.4650955ec928bd6f8d0ca626875a31e8.jpgI have found space between the air box and the frame and close to the original loom.

Above you is the wire tucked in behind this bracket and the bolt at the top has been used as ground. I've had to take the paint of underneath to make sure it is OK. IMG_20200829_143632.thumb.jpg.3ac0a57a46fe6c84d607915f89b0427d.jpgfound a nice place for the main control unit to the left hand side of the bike and tucked behind a plastic next to the battery. The unit comes with velcro glued to it and double sided tape for the bike which stick instantly.

Once this process has been done I've tied up all the cables with small zip ties and bolted the radiator back on.

Step 2 of the process is the shifter sensor.... IMG_20200829_144906.thumb.jpg.80ac0ed083d762a23ace3c3e71be1286.jpgIMG_20200829_145453.thumb.jpg.09e1b968dbb9fca4ce1d183175b025bd.jpg

Sensor comes with bolt, two washers that need to face each other and the sensor in between them... Easy to fit and no need to cut rods adjust the lever etc... Important is to tighten to 5nm and make sure the cable sits nicely, luck has it that there is a cable on this side and some stock clamps that can protect the cable.

Once installed router the cable to the main unit and connect.

Put ignition on and you should have a red light. Start the bike and let it idle...green light should be on.

After this assemble the bike lift the bike so the rear wheel is in the air get your phone and follow the installation wizard from the app.

Nice and easy... Smiles per miles guaranteed...

Hi Aleks, how's the quickshifter going? Iam thinking about getting one and looking at the different options.

Any problems/concerns?

cheers, Disco

Hi mate, absolutely a must if you spend a lot of time on the road... I love mine and would recommend it... Installation is easy and it works very well once set up.. I'm still not done with setting mine up but I didn't have a lot of time... Bluetooth and App makes it a breeze to change and the shifts are smooth even at 4k rpm once its setup.

I've probably put 2k miles on the quickshifter and it does perform very well. Anything above 4k is good and gradually going up the rev range it gets better and better. The nice thing about this is that you can play with the times and push it so much until you've got the sweet spot.

Love how you can ride out of corners and just bang through the gearbox without having to worry about clutch and also changes mid corner or leaned over are fun and safe now.

  • Hi I'm interested to find out how oyu are getting along with the quickshifter and can it be used for down shifting.

I don't believe they also work for downshifts. There are bikes with throttle by wire systems that can be reflashed to "auto-blip" during downshifts, but the Tenere isn't one of them, as it has an old school throttle cable system. The ONLY reason I know this is because I recently asked 2WheelDynoWorks about downshifting and "autoblipping" on a tuning thread here last week.
