Adventure Spec Side Racks with Outback Motortek tail rack

I wanted to review the AS side Racks as well as provide guidance for those that may have the same combination of AS side rack and OM tail rack. 

the AS side racks are very beefy (in a good way) and should provide good protection even without soft bags mounted. The fit and finish is really good and the contour of the rack follows the side panels very nicely. Overall I’m very happy with the product. 
 

Fitment with OM tail rack: I needed to add spacers inbetween the OM and AS racks to match the overall spacer length designed for the AS racks. 

Original AS spacers are 60mm Front/40mm rear. I needed to use 24 mm in the front and 4mm to the back (in combination with the OM rack offset) to match AS’s original offset from the side panels. As you can see in the pictures I just used a cheap SS spacer from Lowe’s on the front and a few washers on the back. Eventually I’m going to get the thick aluminum spacers provided by AS cut down to size.
