Oil thermometer

Recommended Posts

I was wandering if it is possible to mount an oil thermometer with a separate sensor. After a bit of research I found out that the CP2 engine has a  M16x1,5 blind plug in the crankcase which can be used for that.

The thermometer I chose is from Yoshimura (JP). It also shows the current voltage. The separate sensor ist the "type B".

The bracket behind the dashboard is from KEDO. It's made of stainless steel and quite heavy. That gives negative influence to the dash and the front light. Maybe I will put one of these anti-wobble-solutions on the bike to fix this.

Oil temperature was (after first short test ride) between 80 and 87 degree celsius.

Don't know if it is really necessary but it looks cool and came with a sticker😎

... Nice installation ...

Which thermometer is the accurate one? ... the picture you posted does show a significant gap. ... (24degC)

Water temperature rises much faster while engine running but not driving.

During the short test ride the water and oil temperature were round about 80 degree Celsius each. Oil max was 87 while water was 80-82.

I think both show the right temperature of it’s measured medium.
