Chain guide ?

Maybe a silly question, asking for a friend 😉 .

If the T7 is built for dirt why doesn't it come standard with a chain guide?

I see it is an OEM optional extra.

If it is optional, does that mean it doesn't need it for the majority of its intended use?

Constructed of durable ultra high molecular weight polyethylene and featuring the Yamaha logo, this guide for the Tenere 700 is perfect for protecting the chain.

  • Wizbang changed the title to Chain guide ?

Yamaha knows 95% of these bikes will never be taken off road in a manner that would warrant one.

They are noisy and the bike would never pass a drive by sound test.
