BEND BACK OEM CRASH BARS

Recommended Posts

Hi there! I have the OEM crash bars installed, and when I drop my bike, the bars bends inward, touching the plastics.

I keep on bending those back with my hands and a friend holding the bike, but I'd like to know if anybody has found a different (and more efficient) method for bending the bars back 🙂

PS: I know I could change the bars, but I don't dislike the looks of it and they came with the bike (bought it second hand), so until they do their job I'm fine with keeping them!

I had the same issue recently, my solution was to use short strap that I looped around bent crash bar and was yanking it outwards, little by little it moved until it looked the same like other side. this can by done by 1 person, no assistance needed.

Great! but how did you hold the bike up? just pushing it with your foot?

It was just on the side-stand ... that was enough (it was left side, not sure if it will work the some on the right side, but i guess it would). I was doing "many small yanks" as opposed to pulling continuously with some support against the bike. I'll ask somebody to film me next time 😄

I recently used a mattock to twist my Touratech bars back into shape. Worked a treat!
