The beginning, OEM Rally edition (US style, not the cool over seas one) Bought back in August 2020. I didn’t necessarily want the Rally but if I didn’t get it I would have had to wait almost a year later and got a red one. I like the red one but liked riding a year earlier better.

Just for reference, the US Rally bike came with the heavier duty skid plate shown, OEM crash bars, OEM center stand, OEM chain guide, tank pad (top only), OEM rad guard and OEM mono seat rack. So these parts I won’t really go over in this thread.

The following changes are not exactly in order but very close as much as my memory serves me.

I’ll try to come back and add links as much as possible later on.

Early on I did the typical USB charger (Amazon) with volt meter and Camel anti-bobble head brackets.

Then pretty much immediately I had to do something about the OEM levers. They were not comfortable for me at all. I have 2 sport bikes with aftermarket levers, one with Pazzo and the other with Ride It. Honestly, I can’t tell the difference between them except an extreme one in price. The Pazzo being very expensive and the Ride It kinda cheap-ish. So I went with the Ride It for the T7 and am very happy with that choice.

Soon after, the thick mud fling build-up around the engine wasn’t working for me, so this front fender extender was the ticket.

(Yeah the plastic push rivets are ugly- good thing it’s an ugly matt front fender for them to be in)

Blinkers/ indicators. I liked what another member on here did and got these from eBay.

Somewhere in there I got in on the TechSpec side grips group buy. I definitely use these while standing when the going gets rough.

As fall of 2020 came I knew to extend my riding season a bit more I’d need these Oxford “Adventure” heated grips. They make several length grips, I found the Adventure to be a perfect fit. Like many on here I didn’t want the controller on the handlebars so I mounted it here. (Some don’t like that either lol) This works for me because I rarely use them over the period of a year and even when I do, I’m not one to change the temp setting throughout a given ride.

Acerbis frame guards that install with basically o-rings. They are held in place well.

UNI pre-filter. I’ve seen a lot of chat over the years about paper vs foam filters. I think they both bring something to the table and I like the idea of the oiled foam pre-filter and the OEM paper main filter.  Almost all my machines I’ve done this too and they all have the cleanest intake tracts I’ve seen. I’m am not after “more power” with this though.

OEM Yamaha tool storage add-on, to the OEM skid plate that is only available in all countries EXCEPT the US. So I had to move mountains to get this. Naaah, I just had to part with way too much of a paycheck to get it.

Swing arm protector for when I drop it on the muffler side- so the muffler doesn’t cut into the swing arm.

Cheapo Amazon throttle lock. Works pretty decent for its price.  Isn’t great but I rarely have the need for a throttle lock so it’s good enough for me.

I bought a Rotopax mount and bolted it to the OEM Mono seat rack. I put a 1.75 gallon fuel tank on it for longer trips and also have a 1.75 water tank for when I need that instead of the extra fuel (not shown). As others have stated, I also had to grind and paint the edges of the Mono rack to clear SWMotech rack. I very specifically choose SWMotech rear rack because it was level, or flat with the Mono rack so the Rotopax tanks would sit flush.

The next 2 pics are more to show the rear rack mounts since I was on that subject, but they also show my cut 3M clear vinyl for a little rear fender protection from Tusk Excursion bags. Works great.

Next up was fork springs. The front of this bike for me has a little too much dive and I had to add aftermarket pre-load spacers. With these Stoltec fork springs I was able to remove the pre-load spacers and I hope to be able to use a little softer compression while experiencing less fork dive. I went from the stock .60 KG to .65 KG.

I really love this sticker cheat-sheet  they send with the fork springs!

I got the the speed-corrected ABS rings from Aleks here on the forum, painted them black and swapped them out. Easy enough.

This little project was just for fun. I wanted some AUX lights on the front of the bike but didn’t want to have hundreds into it. Plus I had all winter to mess around with this. I acquired the front lights mount from Aliexpress, the lights from Amazon as also the wire kit from Amazon.  I believe I had a total of around $80 into all of it.

Added these to keep the flow of the color scheme throughout the front end. It’s was cheap and I like it. I’m not into big graphic kits but small subtle changes I like.

After a long agonizing thought process, I’ve decided to try a rack side pannier system. Well, I hope it’s more than “try”, this sh*t’s expensive!

I wanted something that will give me options, especially if I change my mind with the luggage set up down the road. Or add a rotopack, maybe have a day trip set up and and a separate over night camping set up, etc. I chose the SWMotech Pro side carriers for their ease of removal both to the bike, and to the luggage itself.  The side cases are half the price of aluminum cases but their also a bit thin (abs) and basically held together with a zipper. So time will tell… I haven’t actually used them yet.

**I've decided to with full aluminum side cases.  These are for sale as of 3-9-24.

Installed a CamelADV side stand HD spring (the OEM is floppy weak), Camel fork guard protectors and galfer rear brake pads.  Also bought the Camel OBD2 to service port connector not shown.

Winter 2023 brings just a few small changes.  To start with I decided to get a Sargent seat for the front seat due to 2 reasons. 1- A new-to me Yamaha FJ09 came with one and I'm really liking it, 2- because the Sargent comes with their own seat pan so I can swap out seats at will within seconds.  So it'll be OEM for off-road orientated day trips and the Sargent for the week long Adventure Touring trips.

Then the ever-so-popular Camel one finger clutch for use with OEM crash bars and Camel "Fix" rear brake lever.  The bike now feels like it has a normal rear brake!
