If you keep your thread in here updated with upgrades and maintenance records as they occur, someday when you go to list your bike for sale online, you can put a link to your log in your sale listing. Think about this, this will show any potential buyer everything that was done to your bike with pics and commentary and your bike will sell for top dollar! Rules are simple. 1. I'm not one to take a lot of pictures, but I'll try to document my build here. Picked the bike up on June 11th 2021. Rode it about 1.3km before pulling it apart and adding farkles. Edit: it's built to be 90% dirt oriented, I ride maybe 60-70% dirt. It's still used for regular street bike things, because it does things that dirtbikes can't do.

Ok, now that I have your attention, IT WASN'T YAMAHA'S FAULT!!! It was the dumb-ass owner - me! So I was installing my new Acerbis tank, and had all the plastic off for other reasons, and noticed, to my disappointment, that my rear tie down lugs in the frame rails had cracked welds. Now, judging from the corrosion around the crack, I'm guessing it has been cracked awhile. So, that makes me think of the last loads I had on them. I was using Outback Motortek racks with Mosko Moto's Backcountry 25L bags and a rotopax on each side. (see image) Worked great on the road, but not so much on the trail, as the bags were too far forward and would catch your ankles. Turns out, …

We've been traveling and living on our bikes for about a year now, so all our worldly possessions are pocketed, strapped, or bungeed to our bikes, along with a dog. We love dirt and stick to it as much as we can, and I have a soft spot for rocky, technical terrain. Between all of this, I have a pretty specific way I want to outfit the bike. I'm in the process of overhauling this post, so here's the start to a definitive and historical account of my T7 doodads, hopefully to be completed soon. PROTECTION Crash Bars Givi These didn't provide as much protection as I wanted and didn't provide a good mounting option fo…

Disclaimer: Hope I don't annoy too many of you guys by asking those stupid newbie questions all over again...seriously, I tried to get as much info by myself first 😕 If need be, please move this thread to another section @Cruizin - not totally sure if this should be in the build & maintenance logs, as it's not really a build yet. So, this is going to be tough for me. Being notoriously overcautious while knowing that light is right brings me sleepless nights already - and I don't even have my T7 yet. Although I really like the Tenere's OEM look, I think I will have to add several items for protecting it and increasing its reliability offroad. …

Updated: 2024/07/04 Model: 2024 Yamaha Tenere 700 North American Market Purchased: 2024/05/28 Pick Up: 2024/06/01 Emily replaced my 2016 Triumph Tiger, which was stolen in May. Who steals Tigers? I'll never know, but they stole her; they did. The Tenere 700 was at the top of my shortlist. I've never been one for bikes with more electronics than a Teslas, and after doing a perfunctory test ride on other bikes, I went over and rode the Tenere (in the rain, no less) and bought her. Since purchase, these are the things I've done, ordered or want to do. I'll upload more pictures soon. I swear. Completed: Camel ADV guts protector Camel …

So, finally after my 15 posts, I can write about my ideas and plans. I bought my T7 used, with about 2900kms and more than 2 years of warranty left for a very fair price (for Swiss standards). It came with some minor mods and goodies. Mods: - Motea upper crash bars - Motea lower crash bars - Motea center stand (which I immediately removed) - Daytona heated grips (Version 2 I believe) - Touratech seat (still testing which seat is better) - OEM windscreen extension - Kriega OS with 2x 12L and 1 US-20 (which I already owned) That's what the Camutscha looks like as of now. Now to my p…

Seems like a great place to keep a record of things. 1200 miles on the bike as of now. I bought it in late December as a bone stock bike with 700 miles on it. I've made a fair amount of changes since I bought it so this first post will be to get up to date. Additions/changes to date: Suspension Forks: Ktech valve kit and springs Shock: Ktech Spring Wheels/tires/braking Wheels - Dubya 21x1.85" front & 18x3.5" rear (Haan hubs w/Excel Takasago Rims) Braking front - Single caliper conversion kit from Motoswiss w/Galfer DF475CW 320mm rotor Braking rear - ABS delete from Motoswiss Front Tire - Motoz Tractionator E…

One never finishes building ones motorcycle, its an ongoing process from the time you get the bike to the time you sell it. Or so it seems as ones tastes and requirements evolve through ownership. The Tenere is one of those motorcycles that just seems to fit that bill so very very very well, because it is so versatile and there are sooooo many parts available out there for one to choose from. In contradicting my own opening statement above, I think I have reached a kind of equilibrium on mods to my T7 build. The only additions I can think off that I will need in the future are - luggage options - suspension upgrades (only if I get better skilled and st…

The beginning, OEM Rally edition (US style, not the cool over seas one) Bought back in August 2020. I didn’t necessarily want the Rally but if I didn’t get it I would have had to wait almost a year later and got a red one. I like the red one but liked riding a year earlier better.

So, I've been wanting to mount this tool tube for awhile after it broke off my former Outback Motortek racks a couple of years ago. With my frame boss cracking and repairs, I had the welder out anyway, so came up with this. I may run different clamps, but it is very stout and should last. It bolts up to the bottom of the Camel Tail Tidy, and requires a small slot in the rear lower cowl to pick up the rear rack mount (newly welded!) We'll see how it works, when the snow is gone.

Good morning, afternoon and good night depending where you are in the world Just been working slowly on my new bike (first ever new bike or car). I bought this with plan to just ride it knowing it’s a new bike and don’t have fix load issues on old bike. However, that didn’t happen. My wife says I have an issue in that I can’t leave everything alone. I like to call it foreplay as I have slowly stripped the bikes clothes off, played with its intricate parts, taken a sneak peak into hidden areas in the lead up to the dirty off-road ride. My son also wanted christen the bike "Tigger" as this is what my dad calls me since a child (used love …

Edit: Please read the intention in the text, this topic is about replacing the OEM display for a Carpe Iter tablet in its whole. Not for monitoring codes like most people use the ODB scanner for. Keep it on topic please with possible problems and solutions that comes with removing the OEM dash. That's the goal of this topic, to find out if it is possible without major drawbacks. Didn't knew what section was best but just in case it ends up in another change of my already build bike i chose this section. In the CANbus question topic by @Kjellbrell this seed was planted in my brain. The OBDLINK LX Bluetooth OBD II Scanner can display everything on your dash on…

This story starts back in February of 2021…. Sick of being inside with all the Covid restrictions, I wanted to get outside and explore my beautiful state of Utah. I’ve lived here for 10 years but between work and family and other commitments, I really haven’t seen as much of the state as I’d like. I’m a new rider and decided to start out with a smaller bike like a CRF300 or a WR250R but after talking to some friends about the kind of riding I thought I’d be doing, decided to level up and get a bigger bike. I tried and tried to find a bike I could test ride or even just look at in person but there wasn’t a dealer within 200 miles that had one in stock. Th…

530 mi: -DIY radiator guard (fit under stock louvers) -Camel ADV Clutch Arm (Huge improvement over stock pull on the middle hole) -Camel ADV Fork Guard Guards, stout little machined pieces, look great, the 3M tape is insane, you couldn’t pull it off without some tools. -Camel ADV LED Turn Signals, actually pretty nice for the price l, they feel significantly more durable than the stock lights and man oh man they look miles better, they are as bright if not brighter than the stock lights, but no day running lights (two wire).

I got this T7 in the initial wave of pre-orders to the US. I'm in Utah, and had an initial goal of hitting the Canadian and Mexican borders in my first year. I did get to them (in two years), and I'm going to take the bike and re-build it to be off-road touring oriented. I first pulled 33lbs of racks and center stand off, and I'm just getting to dropping weight and changing tire style. Original Build, 521 pounds full/wet TKC70 Rocks tires, OEM 150/70/18 rear size Yamaha crash bars (heavy!) Yamaha touring kit with center stand and Givi panniers / racks Koso Apollo heated grips Doubletake mirrors Garmin Zumo GPS RAM wireless…
