Fuel tank plastic cover removal

Recommended Posts

Hi, can anyone shed some light on how to remove the Fuel tank plastic cover, I’ve removed the 2 screws at the back and the 4 push pins from the front, but it still feels like its secured under the cover. Any info would be much appreciated.

Here is the earlier thread about the tank cover

"The rubber seal grips the filler tightly but once you’ve popped the plastic grip that’s  underneath the edge of the cover away from the metal section that it’s attached to on each side by gently pulling outwards then you can ease the whole piece off around the filler area. No need to slide anything backwards now as you’ve already removed the side panels that we’re holding the cover in place. They were the only things that needed to slide backwards. "

Thanks for that 👍, I now can visualise whats holding it on and can now get it sorted tomorrow.

Tip:
When putting everything back together use some acid free Vaseline on the rubbers where something slots in to keep it in place.
Then it's easier to put it back together en a lot easier to take it of the next time.
