Bent the sh* out of my barkbusters

Had my BBs on for 4 rides and the left side is bent out of whack.

Dropped the bike but only at low speed so they've failed under the weight of the bike toppling not much else.

Are hand guards really a consumable on a heavier bike like the T7?

Anyone had any similar experience or can recommend some sturdier alternatives?

In the UK for what it's worth..

My Acerbis X-Factors had two tipovers on the RHS (one on concrete) plus some offroad ground contact.

Zero bending!

Didn't had any problem with the BB's.
The fast crash on gravel bent my OEM handlebar but not the BB's.

Damn that's what I would have expected! I'd heard good things but then I drop it stationary and then realise when I'm home they're really bent. It's bent at the drill hole for the plastic

I've contacted bark buster maybe I'll be lucky but not holding out hope.

Already had the MIVV Dakar on order, the OEM is now in the basement but without scratches.
It was protected by the Mosko Moto Reckless 40 i always have on for tools and a lunchbox (the T7 is my daily driver together with a Honda Crosstourer).

Nice high exhaust is on the list for the winter but I think new tyres and suspension first (and now hang guards 😅

Mine BB didn’t bend and I glad I had them on the bike.  Thank you to the forest service for the thick gravel!   Not

I have used Bark Busters since their beginnings in the mid 80s. I would be surprised if you don't hear from them. You might have to wait a day or two; it is a public holiday Monday in NSW.

I just did the same this weekend. I bent the set on my last bike as well. Maybe I’ll try another brand next time. Meantime, I will put the backbone in a vice a straighten it out.

Just installed the BB on my T7. Same as what I had on the Africa Twin but slightly different mount. Never bent the ones on the AT despite many drops. Just wrench it straight and get on with life. If you want stronger look at Highway Dirt Bikes

Not sure what you blokes are doing or if you have imitation BBs but I have never bent a set of genuine Aussie made BBs

Mine are the genuine article, as were the pair on my last bike.  Gravity must be a bit stronger here in the Northern hemisphere!

I've never bent them on previous bikes, but I've had to straighten out the left one on the T7 a couple of times, a 200+ kg bike might be the difference I'm thinking.

I'd check out Highway Dirt Bikes (HDB) handguards.

I use them and they aren't cheap but are bulletproof.

They have two styles, one that keeps the bar end weights and one that doesn't.

If you search this forum there are some reviews and pics and all that jazz.

They look great, I'll have to investigate getting them here in the UK.

For the time being though just going to stick the BB in a vice and hope for the best, sounds like I might have just been unlucky
