Euro 4 exhaust can on euro 5 world raid

Hi , quick question, can I put a euro 4 Akrapovic slip on exhaust on a  euro 5 bike

(Tenere 700 world raid.)

Akrapovic titanium slip on has been fitted on lots of tenere 700 2020/2021 models of bikes?

As far as I can gather it would be fine as I am not changing the downpipe where the catalytic converter is. I’ve even spoke to the guy who MOT is a bike and he said I would just need to put the original end can on if needed for the mot. I’m just trying to find out that it wouldn’t make any difference or damage the engine.

thanks paul

I can’t see why you can’t fit any can you want, and wouldn’t have to replace it for the test. As you say, the cats are in the down pipe. It’ll be fine.
if you do want an akrapovic in particular though, don’t go through Yamaha. Go straight to the manufacturer. No way they are worth anywhere near £1000. A titanium can is worth £3-400 max.

Yes, you can.

You will need an extension for the O2 sensor, or just an OEM O2 sensor from a pre 2020-bike (Euro 4).

The rest is identical.

Good luck.

I thought that was just required if you fit different header pipes - the op is referring to a replacement can

Fantastic guys that’s good news don’t worry I could not justify the original price but they have dropped it to £645 on the Yamaha site from£1000 🤘🤘

It’s a good price i looked all over as I love the look/ style of this exhaust it will be going on a world raid in black so should look great . I would not have paid £1,075.50 as on the Yamaha web site

Sorry I have just reread this please excuse my ignorance I won’t have to mod the new akrapovic exhaust ? I am a bit lost on the paragraph  below ☺️You will need an extension for the O2 sensor, or just an OEM O2 sensor from a pre 2020-bike (Euro 4).

The rest is identical.
thanks

Sorry. My response was due to my misreading thinking you would swap the complete exhaust.

No you don’t need modification- that would only be if you changed the front pipe where the cat is

Oh my God, thank you so much. I’ve just read your reply I was just about to cancel my order through Yamaha as I got into a right panic in a flap .

sungai on YouTube with stripping his sensor out as I buy wasn’t running correctly. Last thing I want to do on a brand-new bike is screw it up..

I know you’ve now got me searching the net. I really do like that one it’s the same as Pol Tarres has on his tenere ,shame I can’t ride anything like him.

Still couldn’t justify £600 for a can. 🤮easily £200 overpriced. Try arrow, quill, Remus, etc.
