*Now shipping with an updated return spring!* The Camel Toe Side Stand for the 700 Tenere is a direct replacement for the factory cast aluminum stand.  Do you climb on your bike while the side stand is down? Go for...

I have 20mm lower links and the forks pushed up an additional  15mm. This works for me.

You won't be able to use a rear stand.  Once you remove the links, the bike will collapse.

I was afraid of that, you just saved me! Thanks!

Can lowering links be fitted using front and rear paddock stands, or does it need to be lifted from another point please?

You can place the bike on it's side stand. Then using an scissor jack positioned under the opposite side foot peg to lift the bike. This is where a center stand attaches so it will support the bike.  It helps to prop up the side stand such that the bike is a bit more vertical. You could also use two scissor jacks if you have them handy. Caution will be needed however. The bike is not very stable while in this position. If you loosen the bolts/nuts before you begin so that you are not tugging on the bike while lifted would be a good idea. Also if you can somehow secure it. For me I just blocked the front and rear tires into position.

I'm pleased with lowering this bike. I like off road and being lower helps with the additional weight of an adventure bike for those moments it's necessary to give up the pegs. The beauty I've found on the Tenere is that it is so easy to go back to standing. This is where I confess to being a dirt bike rider for the most part. LoL I also found it necessary to replace the side stand with the one noted in this thread. Otherwise the slightest bump of the bike would have sent it onto it side. Do you really trust that some moron is not going to do this??? Haha.

I went for the Rally Raid 20mm lower links - far cheaper than the Yamaha offering and excellent quality. No need to shorten the side stand - the bike sits up a little more but not enough to cause concern. I've also got the Yamaha main stand - again no issues using this with the lowering links. I tried the lower seat initially but like others found it uncomfortable on longer rides. I dropped the forks by about 8mm as recommended to keep the bike's geometry much as before.
