Right choice. I've got both a crf300l and a T7. With the crf you can approach tracks you can't with a T7, unless you are a professional racer (I'm 62 and began offroading only three years ago).  With the crf you can ride on highways at 120 kph/75 mph without any problem for an hour or two (but carrying a passenger is a pain in the ass, bith for the rider and the passenger)

I've got some offroad courses just out of my house: I often go for a trip alone with thw crf300l (dropped it several times, not a big problem), but I'd never ride my T7 offroad alone (dropped it two times, both times I could't have it up again without the help of my friends).

 

The crf is underpowered, but it's okay for my scarce capabilities. I'm waiting for the Kove 450 rally to be imported to Italy (same weight of the crf, almost double power, proper suspension and probably better on-road - max speed 100 mph, so no problem cruising at 75/80). That could be a perfect substitute for the crf.
