T7 Soft Luggage Racks

Ktmmitch

Recommended Posts

An early start to go out for a full days riding on the trails to test the preproduction soft luggage racks to suit the Yamaha T7.
We have deliberately tried to keep these as slim and narrow as possible, using the same generic, well proven panel system has worked well on our other bikes.
I will be fitting the giant leap coyote bag to test the fit.
I have also done some other modifications to suit the trail riding, and to do some more testing of these products

They are separate, we intend that customers can fit either the soft luggage rack or rear rack together, or individually.
There will be multiple tie downs on the rear loop, plus extra M8 fixing tabs so that we can offer a few different mounting plates, laser cut and folded from aluminium, similar to our proven CB500X & G310GS version.
The soft luggage racks have holes laser cut to accept the Rotopak mounts, so that extra fuel, or water, can be mounted on them.
We are going to be testing these extensively here in the UK, Australia, and hopefully USA (once T7's arrive).

This does look promising ... I like those side racks as long at it works with some of the tail racks like Outback Motortek, and we keep our options alive for some higher up exhaust(s).

Yep interested, can you weld some  2x loops right at the bottom so we can pass webbing through that would be great and something the competition doesn't do.

i use Magadans and would be good if you can.

Continuing development on the soft luggage racks to fit the Yamaha T7, our first set have done several hundred hard miles off road and so we are doing some slight modifications for the production versions. We have a few different types of soft luggage to check such as Giant Loop Coyote, Mosko Moto and Enduristan

First set of soft luggage to be evaluated with our new Soft Luggage Racks developed specifically for the Yamaha T7 Tenere is the Mosko Moto Reckless 80, kindly loaned to us by T7 owner Alan.
Although I have never used this brand before, they fit nicely over the rear seat of the T7 and strap securely using 2 straps at the rear and 2 at the front, the front straps attach to the strap loops laser-cut into our lower mounts, so that they cannot slide out, and also they still work with the OEM pillion footrest hangers removed.
There is also the option to thread the side straps through our side panels, then connect, with snap buckles, to the front of the bags, for extra rigidity.
I also filled to top fold-over bag with luggage to see how high it went, and it was still easy to swing a leg over the bike to get on or off, and it didn’t push the rider forward when seated correctly.
The principle of our popular soft luggage racks is to keep the overall width of the rear slim, but have enough area to fix the luggage securely and keep it away from the silencer and rear wheel/chain area.

Many thanks for these updates @Ktmmitch, the racks are looking really good and definitely on my shortlist of options, primarily as they will allow a wide variety of bags/equipment to be fixed and will assist in keeping luggage as low and forward as possible.

Some questions:

- The lower rectangular openings in the rack look like they will line up with the lower straps for Kriega OS-32s - can you confirm?

- Do you think the racks would hold OS-32s clear of the exhaust?

- Do you have an approx. weight for the racks?

Cheers.

Nice all black T7 getting some parts today to finish off the build. A great setup featuring our 20mm Lowering links, uprated rear spring, GPS multi mount and soft luggage racks which are soon to be released for the general public.

Is that a JNS Engineering rear rack?  Tight, sleek, and looks great with your pannier rack!

They will be on this week, we have just been slightly delayed by developing an optional silencer hanger stiffening plate, which will fit to the soft luggage racks and strengthen the OEM silencer mount

Adam - When you release them, will the racks be available through US vendors such as Rocky Mountain ATV?  I purchased some products directly from the RR website and subsequently discovered you were selling the same items on RMATV's site.   While shipping was surprisingly fast from the UK to the US, I could have saved a good deal on shipping costs if I had bought from RMATV.
