Warm weather this weekend prompted me to pull the studs out last night at sunset, still haven’t mounted the new tires. Had the Sunday scaries later on so I took off at 11:30 PM, was still 54 degrees f outside! First ride on the pavement this season, had to document it while washing the salt off from having it on the bike hauler 🤦🏻‍♂️

Now I just need to get the damn thing registered.

I keep thinking I need to dial the thing back cosmetically because it's "too much" compared to my typically preferred stealth aesthetic and then I stare at it in moments like this and think "Nope, it looks just fine the way it is!"

Good news - nothing really got bent up since it fell in marshy mud

Bad news - when I lifted the bike upright I more or less hand to chisel out everything from a massive sheet of mud

It took about 3 hours to drag the bike out by myself. Absolutely awful experience 😐. It just looked like packed grass initially though! Lesson learned.

Nice bikeride today!

TET North.

Started early in Eelde, where it still felt quite cold with summergloves on. The dirt roads are already a lot better than a month ago. Due to the wet months of January and February, things were bad at the time. In the course of the morning the sun came out and it became more and more enjoyable.

Tank empty, mortgage increased to fill it again for the next ride...

Went for a little rip myself.  First ride this year.  Finally there is spring light at the end of the tunnel.  Still cool here and the snow hasn't melted but I'll take what I can get.

I had installed new to me sensor rotors and they work like a charm.  The speedometer now reads within 1.5 km (greater than the GPS speed) and at highway speed it's dead on.  So Yamaha, I challenge you to make a better product.  Like they're going to listen to me.

Out for another ride today.  Much to my surprise, the weather is really good for the middle of March.  Usually can't ride due to snow, until mid April or longer.

Out today playing again on some of the local state forest roads which include a few miles of baby head rocks, etc. At least this time I avoided the rock that bent the T7's front rim a few months ago. How come every time I do this kind of thing on my T7 I bust out giggling at the end of the fun stuff?

Impromptu ride out early this Sunday morning.

Did a +- 200 km ride out 'n back to Maynooth for a Photo Rally pic.

'Conolly's Folly.'

I enjoy these Photo Rallies.  Points you 'twards place and routes you might not normally contemplate.
I always research the points as well.......
Nice to learn a bit along the way.

The folly was built just outside Castletown Estate (containing Castletown House), which contains two follies, both commissioned by Katherine Conolly, the philanthropic widow of Speaker William Conolly. It was built at a cost of £400 to provide employment for the poor of Celbridge when the famine of 1740–41 was at its worst. The obelisk was built in 1740 after a particularly severe winter. As a folly, it could be seen from the back of Castletown some 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) away and it is built exactly perpendicular to the centre of the house. It was intended to mark the rear entrance gateway to Castletown house in conjunction with an avenue leading to the house.

Lovely quiet ride across country 'twards Dublin.

Tipped my bike nicely over its 2nd milestone.

The 1600km/1000ml recommended break-in period done and dusted.

Mr. Yamaha says I can ride my bike 'normally' now!

Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees you'll ride alone.....

Nice! Call me crazy if you want, but I truly enjoy riding in the rain. It actually relaxes me. But I've been a pluviophile all my life. As far as I can remember. Sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with me? Like Albert Einstein once said:
