For the rear I use Pirelli  Mt21 Rallycross (140/80), because it was a good deal to pay less than 50 Euro for brand new tire.🙂 The front tire is Motoz  Tractionator Rallyz.

The terrain looks just like the terrain around my area of riding.  Except the weather is a lot better.  Nice pics.

Just got back from a nice long weekend trip through the Ardennes with some friends.

Got to test out my luggage set up, no complaints!

Found another rally buddy, he had hard panniers from oem Yamaha options. Nice comparion with a soft luggage set.

Looks great! Ardennes are on my list, not too far from my place. Love the Belgian countryside!

For last few days the weather is ok, although nights are still cold. Last week I was out for one night sleeping by the river in my hammock, so at 3 a.m.  the temperature was around freezing.

Today, somewhere in  woods I came across the anti-tank  roadblock built during the Second World War in 1944.  There are three concrete blocks, the biggest one supposed to be blown up in order to fall on the road and block it. On both sides of the road there is a huge, deep  ditch to prevent tanks from moving across.

It was a good day.🙂

Got in an early morning run to collect milk and a few fresh bread rolls.

Fired the T7 past Monaghan town, through Tydavnet then, up on the heights of Bragan.

About 100+ kms.

A nice early Summer local ride out.

Didn't see a soul after leaving the main roads.

Blissfully quiet on the high ground...save for the wind.

Got back from west virginia after 4 nights of tent camping. Fishing was a failure. Gave the rivers multiple lures and a pair of sunglasses and it gave me nothing in return. Most importantly it was fun.

Great pics, and what a great place to ride. I'll bet the one with your sunglasses is the coolest looking trout in WV.  😁

Is that a Conti TrailAttack 2 on the rear of your T7? One of my favorite 80/20 tires, ran multiple sets on my GS.

Lol! Year round spawning for that trout now. It really surprised me with the places to ride for sure! And I only experienced one part of the monongahela national forest. Yeah its a set of trail attack 2s and they really surprised me on the forest roads. I had 7hrs of interstate to get there so they were really an awesome tire for that trip

I'd intended to travel westwards yesterday to tick off a couple of Irish Photo Rally points but swapped that option for a ride Northwards instead.

1111428426_Colerain6-Copy.thumb.JPG.0dca225b09f89503f6d5ebaa8431eb4f.JPG
There's a Rally point in Northern Ireland near to Coleraine, the Ballydevitt Cottage.
I haven't found much info on this wee homestead.
Probably the smallest house I've ever entered.

1.thumb.JPG.ee35233f8769facb51926ed95ad0606b.JPG

The door has a lock on it but a bit of a push saw it opening.

2.thumb.JPG.4a6cb04105c65f6082255a6904c0e42d.JPG

The inside space is divided into just two small rooms.

Cant imagine living in such a small pozzie!

Anyway.

I suddenly realised that in planning an Irish Photo Rally jaunt, I'd forgotten about the Kawasaki Riders Club Challenge.

A quick Google gave me the location of a Challenge point and it was just a quick 22 kms off my planned route.

So, a bit of a diversion took place.

The Mussenden Temple is on a National Trust site and I couldn't gain access with my bike on this morning.

Got a selfie at the gates though.3.thumb.JPG.0bf4bf5734d220bb257b7af186ee3fc6.JPG

4.thumb.jpg.082701db81bedcbdb930ec28d33fd0e4.jpg

Then, 'The Challenge' occupying my thoughts for a while and, being ever-so-close to Coleraine, I remembered a very welcoming Kawasaki dealership in town...

I parked the shiny Ténéré 700 right outside the window, cheekily in front of a gleaming new Z650rs
By the time I got back across the road to my bike an amiable Motoplus assistant popped around the doorway and asked if I needed any help.

When I took my helmet off, Ollie, the assistant, recognised me so, there followed an invite in for coffee and a chat.

I'd last spoken to Ollie in December when I was seriously considering buying a new 2022 KLR 650.

He'd been very helpful at that time but it turned out to be just too difficult and impractical to get hold of one for me.

It was nice to see the folks at Motoplus again though and, I can see the attraction for the z650rs.

I had a bit of a pull across country then to my last Rally point of the day.

Time wasn't on my side today so I'd taken more major roads up through Northern Ireland.
I've always found NI to be quite a bit busier, traffic-wise, than Ireland and on a weekday there can be a bit of congestion in and around the towns.

It was nice then, to get away past Londonderry/Derry then Letterkenny and away through lovely countryside towards Downings.
Especially pleasurable as it's a place I've never visited before.

The road to there's a very pretty ride.

6.thumb.JPG.7ecee05504ff3b829b6682a7b8f8cf5f.JPG

Very much more to my liking.

As per my habit, I like to research a little, the areas that I've visited.
I'd like to return here one day on a more 'coastal' riding day.

It was a delightful ride through the Lough Salt area and through the village of Glen to reach Downings.
What a stunning beach at that wee coastal settlement!

Unfortunately, my picture doesn't do justice.

The sun on the sea and white sand didn't work too well.

The 'Laurentic Gun'

Aren't these photo rallies great wee ways to discover stuff?

With my Rally selfie done...

I started my trek home.

A nice day out. Dry but pretty cold.

Should've kept the liner in my jacket and worn my textiles with the liners in as well instead of riding jeans.

Superb pics!

Makes me want to be there.

What tyres are those?

I fitted a set of Avon Trail Riders to  KLR 650 a while back. They were supposed to be  90/10 Road/Off road bias but they were actually quite capable with some rougher stuff but, for me, the difference they made to my more usual tar road riding was brilliant.

They look very similar to yours
