Nice! Call me crazy if you want, but I truly enjoy riding in the rain. It actually relaxes me. But I've been a pluviophile all my life. As far as I can remember. Sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with me? Like Albert Einstein once said:

“A question that sometimes drives me crazy: am I or are the others crazy?”

What an educational and enlightening  platform this is.

I've learned today what a 'pluviophile' is.

There was a line on the Garmin close to my offroad route home that should be a dirt road/track and i just had to finally check it out.
It turned out to be a dead end but at least i know i cannot add it to my regular commute.
IMG_20220414_163759.jpg.1b402dc3f1e0be47931fb3059c7b7b74.jpg

Here i already turned around about 50 meters further but how thing look behind the bike is not a reason to stop for me. The fenced field i ended in was but it turned out to be an easy turn around after all :classic_rolleyes:
The other track i explored was not worth a picture.

A friend of mine didn't know either, when I told him he got really close to me, crabbed my the waist and said, "I have no idea what the "f@@k that is, but it sounds dirty...let 's do it baby!" Men, always with their minds in the gutter. 🤣

Some pics from my two day, 665 mile ride of the MABDR Bitesize loop in PA completed yesterday. Ride forest roads after a couple days of rain and you're guaranteed to encounter miles of mud and water holes. Had a blast, and the T7 was a star.

PS - Apologies for the last pic, but if anyone knows how to make pictures taken in portrait mode appear correctly on this forum please advise.

Did you take it with your phone? If yes, what type?

If it was an iPhone,

*Go to the Gallery app

*Then select the picture

*Then on the upper right hand corner it says "Edit," click on it

*At the bottom there are three icons, the one all the way to the right has like a square thingy wit two arrows. Click on that one.

*At the top on the left hand side there is a square with one arrow. Click on it. Keep tapping it until it gets to where you want it.

*Then click on "Done."

If it is not an iPhone, then I can send you my e-mail address, send it to me, and I'll fix it for you, and send it back.

You’d be shot just venturing off road in this country. They’d have a chopper up after you so they could crush your bike. Like “the prisoner”(number six wasn’t a spy, he was just a trail rider)😁😳. Theyve just had a consultation recently to try to shut the remaining green lanes to vehicles. Wankers.

lucky buggers you lot. Enjoy.
I think I’ll move to France, the Bretons are related to us Welsh. Slightly warmer too.

Thanks for offering to assist but no, those were all taken with an old, small Canon point & shoot I keep in my tankbag on such rides. When I downloaded all the pics to my laptop, I had to rotate a few of them to the correct orientation and then saved them that way (I assume something to do with the age of the Canon P&S and compatibility with my Dell laptop software). I made my post above using my laptop, and the pics were all uploaded from there where they still appear in the correct orientation.

I just now experimented with numerous portrait pics I've taken with both my old LG Android phone and my new Samsung Android (uploaded the pics from my laptop as if I was going to attach them to this post), and they all appeared in landscape mode as well even though they had all uploaded from the phones to my laptop correctly as portraits. All of these pictures always upload to Google Photos in the correct orientation as well, whether from my phones or my laptop. I attach portrait pics to several other forums and have never had this landscape issue with them.

Any other suggestions/fixes are appreciated!

Interesting! I don't believe that it has to do with the camera being old,  My iPhone does the same thing sometimes, but once I fix them in the phone I never have problems loading them the correct way. Well, thinking about it, I've never tried loading one that was not a screen shot.

A couple of things I would try would be to open the picture and resave it using "Save As." That will save it as a new copy. Or try saving it in a different format before you load it. I assume you have them in jpg. This site takes gif, jpeg, jpe, jpg, and png. Too bad it does not take Tiff.

Success! I saved the subject pic again, but this time changed its name from the camera default name/number. When I upload it here now, it retains the correct orientation. Still saved as a .jpg file as it came from the camera.

Thanks for the help @Yasenia!

I need a German trip. Had gyros from the Greek last night and reminisced. Used to live near the paderborn area. Nice riding in the winterberg area and down to mohnesee. Especially on a blade before static speed cameras. 😉

Not far from my home! Funny, had Gyros yesterday as well.

Should you come over, let me know and we can arrange a ride!

Adding two pictures for Dougie to help in making that decision to come over to france. These are from 2 days all off road in Aveyron area. 20220411_122701.jpg.41330525117415249378bbb6681498dc.jpg

You guys are making me jealous. Maybe I should live on a river boat ( like Johnny depp in the film chocolat)with my bike  just drifting and riding around Europe. I’d be torn in France between the t7 and my old girl, as I’ve always wanted to take the 1vj over to enjoy the Swiss Normandy back roads and villages. I’m over in both bavaria and French alps this year but not on two wheels.
maybe a rally one day where the euro guys can meet (and others of course). I’d prefer the sun but there’s always the “elephant”😉🍺☃️

First (almost) full day on board my new bike yesterday.

Close on 8 hours in the saddle knocking off a couple of Photo Rally points plus... fitted an en-route call into my son's place of work for a quick cuppa.

Registered a route LocaToWeb so's the missus can see where I am.

(Jokes aside, she has a genuine interest)

A good opportunity to give the 700 Ténéré a full days test.

Capture.thumb.JPG.1a3096e298e17c15c9a0a1e04eb127e9.JPG

I had close to an eight hour day with about 6 of them on the road and rolling.

The big traily's a very nice platform for long hours in the saddle. Very comfy.

First stop was an old church.

The  Church of The Ascension in the Wicklow area.

A nice wee building in a quiet and peaceful setting.
It was nice to unwind a bit here cos my ride down-country to this location isn't amongst my favourites.

Too busy for my liking...

2.thumb.JPG.930079b951dca0d9ceac3e39cdc60a1e.JPG

Got the selfie.

1.thumb.jpg.f6fbdd42b2b18bdd88d6c1fe03259fb1.jpg

The church is surrounded by the departed faithful, the names of which are, for the most part, obliterated by time and the elements.

4.thumb.JPG.18518c957a87a932427c331bc499f135.JPG

I moved on...

16 kilometres from here was my son's place of work.

Got there to find my grandson to be the only man in the factory.

Everyone else out 'n about on site.

I spent 30 minutes or so over a cuppa just happily small talking.

This grandson's the one responsible for my Donkey-Man logo. (He labelled me that about 10 years back.:008:)

Interestingly, he considered my new T7 a fairly respectable Donkey!

I could've squandered the afternoon with that 21-year-old young man.
We don't see each other ever-so-often but we enjoy that wonderful rapport that some well spaced generations sometimes experience.

Anyway, he wished me a safe journey on my nice new shiny donkey-bike and I stopped off at my next Rally point.

6.thumb.JPG.f67fe1d7ed658b56cb8cf462085304cc.JPG

Hmmm.  Another 'churchy' themed destination.

It reveals an interesting history of a seemingly very good man though and I enjoyed the ride to get to there.

5.thumb.jpg.e3933d62ae585c689f3ea40a7b87d8cf.jpg

I'd intended to fit in another Photo Rally point but a phone call revealed  a bit of an issue back at mission control.

I headed homewards but stopped at an interesting bit of 'road art' at Belvedere House Park entrance...

7.thumb.JPG.7f8c32594cadfe305630b4675b260439.JPG

It's quite large...

8.jpg.87108e761c8bb595935d1099a2f52689.jpg

A nice cuppla hundred mile+ Spring ride-out.

I can't get enough of Ireland and your ride reports are fantastic.  I love the old churches and the rock work that comes with them.  Thanks for the pictures that come with the story.  I love it.

Wanted to buy some lipstick palms on the other side of the island. Took my buddy with his MT03, who didn’t believe I could carry them. Not only did I bring two home, we took and around the island trip to go home.
