My recent build featured in the AMA American Motorcyclist Magazine.  Since then I have added the Acerbis Tank and water pump protector and the Uni pre-filter.  Really loving the bike!

I hope this is the right place to post this...

After a couple of days of consulting with Cory, and a quick trip to a local fab shop, my tail tidy is whole again. Too bad I can't say the same thing about the plastic ratcheting mechanism on my AX9 helmet, stupid thing broke mid-ride and now my visor is stuck at full close or full open (via friction with the top edge of the visor grinding itself against the peak screws).  You'd think a ~$500 helmet would have more robust parts, but here I am stuck searching for a replacement.

After 17K miles on various terrain including red BDR sections, and after doing this to a distracted doordasher's car, my tail tidy didn't crack. The replacement I just got from Camel now has 4 vertical braces instead of just 2 that the original had. I was wondering why; now I know.

Thankfully I've had enough practice getting off of the bike as it's going down. Thanks for the concern!

Got some of them exhaust protectors from AliExpress and installed them on the Black Widow exhaust can. Now hopefully should not have to worry about burning a hole in my soft luggage.

Haven't given it a dry run test just yet, but should mock load the bags with complete gear and check before taking my 2 week trip planned for next month.

Dunlop Trailmax Raids. What a difference vs the stock tires. Awesome on the road and off. Did my gnarliest hill climb after installing them. Steep with melon sized rocks. Wasn't a walk in the park but not too difficult. Stock tires would have struggled. I like that they are a high silica compound. Hoping they last.

Tenere update:

Got the whole rear apart including the swingarm itself.  I'm cleaning everything, greasing what needs greasing, and installing this new rear shock (RallyRaid Extreme)

I have a matching front fork set from RR as well, but that's all still boxed up.   While re-assembling the rear wheel components and again changing back to the stock rear sprocket, this happens:

image.png.7ae705478e264b647b3c073e1a9b922b.png

The shop manual says 59lb ft for these bolts, and that seems... really excessive.   An annoying setback, and a replacement stud is on its way.  Seems like others who've run into this issue are going with less torque and locktite, so I'll probably go that route and just keep an eye on these bolts for a while.

As for other related updates, I brought this home to keep the T7 company:

Haven't had a chance to ride it as of yet, but next season should be a blast.

I have been continuing to make stuff in stainless steel. I made a side stand pivot bolt and put a grease nipple and cross hole in it so as to keep it greased without disassembly.

Also I've made about 30 of these little shoulder screws for around the bike. OK they don't have a torx head but I gave them a nice dome. They're everywhere !!

yesterday I pulled the engine out so as to work at those rusted in exhaust studs, I'll spend the week soaking them with release oil 🙂

Installed the Gnoblin on my rear rack - expensive piece of hardware, but it really improves the way the Mosko Reckless system sits on the bike. No lateral movement and much quicker to attach/remove the harness from the bike.

Pic rotation is a bit of a problem here for some reason...

New set of tyres should be delivered tomorrow.

E07+ 150/70-18 and a Motoz Dualventure 90/90-21

Looking for a few more bitumen miles.

Complement the 2nd set of wheels spooled up with Rallz 140/80-18 and Scorpion Rally 90/90-21.

A bit warm to ride at the moment.

Oh boy I wish I were at your place now. Temps around 0° C, occasional snow which quickly turns into ice on the roads.

I can assure you summer is not fun.

When it drags on for 3 months and temperatures are constantly in the high 30s low 40s you hang out for a frost!

The bike won't move for months.

Repent, my son! Do at least five one-hour rides around the local countryside on your T7 and experience the blessing of thy machine, and we will forgive you.

I may keep it.  I don't know.  I like it a lot.  We will see.

Believe me, I have ridden it!  Around town, twisties, and two BDRs so far, ID and UT.
