What have you done for your T7 today?

Ohlins installation. No test, no setup. My wheels are on the way for the tubeless upgrade

Added Grab rails/bag tie down point so the bag has more stability than the width of the rack and made a bracket to fit a tool tube which holds a spare tube and everything to change/repair and inflate a tire.

Nice work! I think I have similar tube somewhere in my garage. Could you please provide more pictures of the tool tube installation set up.

I made them out of 25mm s/s and had them powder coated.

A bit of flat bar running from the foot pegs up and attaching to two screws under the seat

My last mod, but bot instaled.

190 € "used" it can keep an Honert DS and a Arai RX7 RR.

Is it oversized to the bike?

I went with a 33 litre Givi

I don't know yet. After I install R&G guards I did't use my T7 too much off road. I bought Tenere to use it for long trips, without any support and assistance. My plan is to protect the bike from serious damage, to do so I mounted Heed crash bars and 4 mm aluminium skid plate. To fully protect the engine I decided to buy R&G guards, I think it's necessary to avoid serious damage of the engine in case of crash in rocky terrain. With the beginning of spring  I start my 2020 adventure on T7. From September to November last year I've done 4500 km, most of them around home except for one three days trip to the mountains around 1500 km. I installed R&G guards before the wintertime and did't ride to many kilometers to test them. 😀

Hello did you get the bottom & top heed crash bars & why did you go with heed ? did you look at the others sw-motech, hepco & becker, touratech, Yamaha, outback motortek. I myself like the look of the heed top bars because of the fixing point back to under the seat & the price. also do you hit your knees on the bars

The main factor for Heed was the price. I live about 200 km from the producer, so the shipment cost me about 5 euro.😁 

I bought basic crash bars and aluminium engine guard which is very strong and high at the front what I like. They also offer bunker crash bars. The truth is that for the price of Yamaha crash bars I've got heed crash bars and aluminum engine guard. 

There is no way I hit or reach bars by my knees. I'm 1,87 meter tall.

I don't like the exposed screw heads sticking out of the Heed bashplate.

Anyone else think this could be an issue?

Fitted a 90Nm spring from Rally raid products (great service and guys/set-up) and now race sag is spot on with only a few clicks of preload. Also bought one of their awesome single tool to enable front and rear wheel removal and their nylon replacement bolt for front fork protectors (apparently if you hit a rock with the steel Allen headed bolts it can rip the mount off the fork legs - eek). Dead chuffed.

Does the ohlins look a tad shorter than the stock one?

I wonder why nylon but not aluminum bolts instead on the front fork bolt?

I've just test ridden my T7 after the shock stiffer spring change. Significantly better and feels plusher. Another huge advantage is that rather than having to wind in 22 clicks of preload to get the rider sag anywhere near right, I only have 4 to 5 clicks now and by definition the height of the bike now sits significantly lower. No more tippy toes and flat feet now. Result! 

 

Will really know the difference it has made when I off road it over big woops.

With a stiffer spring you should sit at the same height if not higher... unless you got a softer spring...

I don't think that's true as it depends on how much preload you need to wind in the get the rider sag. As you wind the sag you can see the shock extending as it exposes more shock body. Preload just sets the ride height and preloads the spring. A stiffer spring needs less preload depending on your weight  I've measured it all up and I now can get the correct rider sag (60mm, 30% of total travel of 200mm) which I couldn't before.
