First camping trip! Well, I cheated by having a buddy who was driving his truck for the BMW club haul my camping gear. Eastman Lake near Yosemite. Octoberfest so we drank and ate. Lots of crazy BMW guys and gals but they liked the T7. All paved but pretty.

I submitted my Irish Photo Rally entry a little while ago.

This is my 4th year participating in this well worthwhile annual motorcycling event after being introduced to it by a member on another forum

I remember the first point I ticked this off this year, a water-pump near to an old post office just a few kilometres from my home.

It sticks out 'cos I did it on my way home from collecting my new bike from Mega Bikes, Dublin.

 

There's 24 points across the countries plus a few more in the BMW Rally which is run simultaneously.

 

 

There's 4 points in each province so I'd guess I've visited or past through, just about every county on the island.

I've estimated that I've travelled over 8000 kilometres completing this years programme plus the BMW Rally and the Club K Challenge.

My finishing point was in Wexford at the Port Lairge Saltmills during possibly the hottest week of 2022.

 

 

I had an 'overnighter' for the last 6 points and covered 1200 + kilometres across two days brilliant summer riding.

 

 

Due to my domestic circumstances my 'foreign' biking forays are severely curtailed so, this rally provides something tangible to focus my motorcycling on. 

It's directed me to places I'd never think of visiting normally and...I've learned quite a bit along the way as well.

In addition, I've met some pretty interesting folks on my travels.

2023 was a most enjoyable year, biking wise.

Not usually out riding in November, but an abnormally warm fall around here allows a few extra rides this year.  Hope to get a few more before they start throwing salt on the roads and the white stuff starts building up.

Did some gravel roads today in beautiful autumn weather. The roadsign says "woestijnweg"="desertroad".

I checked the map and it leads all the way to the Sahara...

Took my latest 'winter hack' (a wee Honda 250 CBF) and explored a bit of Eshbrack Bog at the weekend.

Found a haunted house!

 

An overcast but dry morning.

There's a long, narrow walkway to the front door.

 

 

The forestry people have bricked it up and fenced it off.

There was one window that someone has re-opened.

I didn't climb the fence to look inside.

Yupz.... rainy season.
One more week and then i go change the tyres. These worn E07+ are a hand full in these conditions.
Next for testing are the K60 Ranger.

Detoured through the bush on the way home. Found a fella who’s got his Africa Twin in all sorts and needed some help, they’re bloody heavy!

+12 on Nov.24th so a ride was in order!  a little tour back the snowmobile trails into the bush, next time I get here may be on the sled!
