Picked my new handlebar up at the parcel pick-up point and when i got home another package was delivered at the neighbours.
Yesterday i checked for the tyres i ordered and they where in Poland on the way to the Netherlands but the package at the neighbour was the rear tyre???

The front tyre was the one in Poland and is now in Germany so it should be in this weekend and then i can fix my problems.
Held the handlebar alongside the black one fitted and this orange will be looking epic.
Tomorrow the last ride with the Anakee Wild slick, Friday i'll take the CT.

That the 140 Mitas Rally?  I have one to fit once it rains to go to the dunes with.

Two mods completed. I use a used Kyocera phone I got on eBay with a Quad Lock mount and the OsmAnd app for a GPS. I moved my Quad Lock phone mount from the mirror post using a Ram mount ball to the bar for the GPS using the Quad Lock mirror mount. Worked great. Better visibility and looks like a good fit.

2nd mod - install the windscreen adjustable risers from Altrider to try to manage the wind. First ride with the wind shield at maximum height worked for the wind but I am now going to try it down an inch to see if moving it down still works but moves it further out of my vision. Nicely made product and should work with any screen that bolts to the OEM location.

I swear the windshield was really clean when I left the house! 😄

Today I made this chain tension gauge. Tested it after making it and found out my chain was way of. Much too loose...

Check it out, maybe it can help you...

It's the 150 Mitas E09 Dakar.
Had one in 130 under the XT and no problems in the rain.
At least i think "go to the dunes" means it's bad? (English is not my or a native language here, Afrikaans comes closer).
Next month i already order a new set to start my North Cape trip and after that i'm going to work out the possibilities to move to South Africa and in the mean time i will test some more tyres to use on the trip from the Netherlands to there.

Oh yeah... already tapped the new handlebar for the swap on Saturday but i took the tap from work so i can take it back tomorrow.
We don't use that size very often but you know Murphy, if i kept it until Monday it most likely would be needed Saturday.

Finally got my suspension adjustments satisfactory after replacing the front and rear springs. I made some adjustments tuesday before a 300 mile ride and made it worse. The front was very twitchy and not confidence inspiring at all in some florida sandy roads. Made a few more adjustments today and got the ride softened some and all the twitchyness is gone. It handled very well in the dirt today.

Forgot that I have a whole bunch of these cool red aluminum screws. Massive weight savings and panty dropping aesthetics.

Replaced the rear spring with a Rally Raid 90NM.  Have OM crash bars and pannier racks.  Total rider weight of 222 pounds.  Static/rider sag was 18%/42%.  With the new 90NM spring static/rider sag is now 12%/32%.

And the handlebar, i think it was meant to be ending up with a orange one.

I did about ~60 miles on unpaved roads last sunday and a lot of it was like this hardpacked silt I never saw before, very dusty. I put a universal uni-filter on the snorkel as a pre-filter the day before and just remembered to check, very glad I bought it, that's a lot of dust! Time to clean and re-oil

@advsquidThanks for the reminder. I have the same setup and have yet to need to clean the main filter as the pre filter really does a good job.

I have a couple of those, never thought of fusing them though, good idea.  What do you plan to power with them?  Lamps etc?

Howdy y'all. I'm using part number U-402, less than twenty wingwangs on amazon. It does not come oiled but I had a can of uni-filter brand filter oil laying around anyways
