Yup under the side panels but don’t need them.

Thank you for the answer. What are they for? They are so thick you would think the tank sat in them, but I looked everywhere and found no clue as to where they went. Lol

Mine fell out from the panels. I put them on the shelf. Maybe someone knows exactly where they go if you want to replace them. Notice they have only light glue on them.

I put my stock fender back on. I’ve been very team high fender since getting the bike because I’ve owned many dirtbikes over the years and the look does it for me, but one good ride on wet roads proved that the supermoto fender is ineffective.

I’ve seen the debates here a lot but now I’ve seen the data and you can’t really deny the stock fender works much better!

And to be honest… for a little while now I’ve been reckoning with the fact that I might actually like the stock look better!

Some spring thawing made for some nice slimy farm roads yesterday, perfect for testing the theory

I agree with the stock fender looking better and now that I see your post, keeping the bike a little cleaner as well.  I won't be riding in sticky mud so I don't need a high fender. (famous last words).

@Larson627, how did you bend the crash bars?

That was my logic too, New England is a muddy place. That said, I hope I don’t end up in sticky mud ever, the bike has proven to me plenty already that it does not particularly love mud no matter what tires are on it.

As for the crash bars, oh, just one wee little slide on the ice, I would say it went down easy but my still-bruised femur would tell you I was lying 😅

Took her out to the twisties today!

Although my area is really bad for offroad riding, it has its benefits: Very close to my door, the region "Bergisches Land" starts, with countless small, REALLY twisty roads.

I am impressed how well she rides in such terrain.

My driving teacher has lead (led?) the way, so I could follow his lines. Best lesson so far.

My DR650 had an aftermarket supermoto fender installed when I bought the bike, and like your experience I quickly learned it was not made for muddy conditions as the headlight became coated any time mud was encountered. Although it was still a high mount, as soon as I installed a wide OEM fender no more mud on the headlight.

Agreed, I definitely blame the fender being too short, but I haven’t seen a full length fender that I really like the looks of yet. Plus, the low fender makes the bike look more like what it actually is, a lightweight adventure bike vs a heavy dirtbike lol

I think if I was riding in that I would definitely feel the same. So I guess it depends on where you ride the most. Here in this part of Texas is mostly rock, gravel, hard pack, or a combination with pines. So sticks getting jammed between it and the tire are a real issue. You definitely need to take ride local and type into account.

Very good point! Come dry season I might switch it back, the woods are very snarly around here too, that was why I went high in the first place. The great debate lives on!

In the same boat, Camel kit disposed of the brake lines depending on the low fender, but it stayed for the obviously more practical reasons. Don’t find the low fender looking any worse than the high ones either.

Some better coverage may be offered by larger than SM fenders but then the looks do start to suffer. Practicality  wins this one for me.

...applied expensive adhesive material to my newly broken fender...

463367875_BrokenFender.thumb.jpg.8109ce96c562ef83d093c425c992a1a2.jpg

Took the bike down to Moab this weekend and lost control is the thick mud toward the top of Sand Flats...dumped the bike down on the right side...  broke the right side of the fender and cracked the left side almost all the way through...  Handlebar needed some effort to straighten out but Barkbusters did their job protecting brake lever...

Got my Rotweiler mirrors in from Rally Motor. Yes, my XTZ660 is sold but i still have a VFR1200 engine in my living room.

And of course they had to be installed right away... well after changing the riding gear for something more comfortable.

I put them on about the same way as @NomadSweden
Sadly i didn't won them at their give away on their channel but i bought my own orange set and get rid of the Double take .
This cleans up the handlebar quite well...

What da heck… what’s with an engine being out?

That's a decoration piece.

I also have a Honda Crosstourer and this is an VFR1200 engine like in the Crosstourer.

It's sitting in my living room.

On Saturday, I rode to a biker café not far from my home.

This is what the bar looks like:

I had an older key ring style garage door opener that lost it's ability to stay on the key ring.  So I put one side of the Velcro on the back side and the other side of the Velcro on the top of the brake reservoir.  Now I can open the garage door as I'm riding towards it so it's open when I get there.   Note to self: be sure to duck if the door is not open.

I tail tidyed my tail tidy. 🤣

The blinkers are up on the body side, and removed that HUGE rear license plate light in favor of a small two diode LED in 5500k spectrum.
