Wow!  That's almost $375.00 Canadian.  A very similar product available in Canada sells for $300.00 Canadian.  It was the shipping that ate up your fun money.  But a nice bash plate just the same.  I like it.

what skid plate in canada is selling for $300  ??

Looks like the older one just with an added centimeter of clearence 🤣

Do you know what the small piece on steps 6-8 is for?

Looks like a replacement for the heat shield. Is it attached to the skid plate?

The heatshield on the cat is replaced with a plate, likely due to it being less bulky. Mounted on the bike there's space enough between the cat-plate and the skidplate for fingers.

I wonder what it is for. It is not a heat shield any more ... maybe it helps dissipate some heat like a radiator.

Very interesting, must just be a European thing, those mounting points on the pipe do not exist on the North American model, oxygen sensor different location, also catalytic converted different.

There appears to more differences between the European model and the North American one than just where it is manufactured and the color red they used.

Pretty sure it already has a cat, from what i have read they moved the cat closer to the exhaust port so that it would get hot sooner.

It looks to me by the location of the oxygen sensor that the cat. is located much sooner in the system, the "Y" in the exhaust is forward of the engine instead of beneath it as the NA model. Therefore I believe this is just a heat shield to reduce the heat on the skid plate in an area that could easily be touched.

Tusk.  Took heatgun to the linkage guard.

Pop a couple of sausages in there when you set off. By the time you arrive they are cooked

Has anyone tried an AXP skid plate with a Hepco & Becker center stand?  Seems the stand is somewhat similar to the SW Motech but curious to real world use.  Not specifically listed on their site.

I gave it a shot and it worked out just fine. Just received and installed the Hepco & Becker and the AXP skid plate.  No clearance issues at all up or down for anyone considering them.

@BADDANDY

Any chance of full on side views with the Tusk bashplate fitted, please?

Any thoughts now you have fitted it? Would you buy it again?

Thanks.

I would get some pics up, but I had to add a washer to each front mount due to a bigger than stock oil filter, so my fit won't be a true rep of what it would look like with a stock filter.  Without the washers, it mounted up without any trimming of holes, but just barely.  I am totally content with the plate though.  I'm due an oil change in 300 miles with a stock filter and will take pics then.

Installed the SW Motech a couple days ago.  I like that it covers more of the engine and headers than most of the others.  That was the reason that I was attracted to it.  I personally think it's one of the best looking versions.

It is pretty heavy though.  Just the aluminum is 6lbs 2.4oz  (~2.7 kg).  The steel mounting brackets are additional weight.  Not a huge deal as it is low, but for the weight conscientious, it's something to know.

Also, I noticed on both shifting and braking I was hitting the plate.  For some reason they have a pronounced corner right where my toes hit.  Looking at it, it appears that I can easily trim some of that away but it's a slight annoyance.  And I wish it had a rear linkage guard.

Yamaha oil filter is a 1/2" shorter than the Purolator.  I was able to swap the supplied spacer for the 2 front mounts for 3 washers.

Does anybody know if the Touratech rallyeform skid plate is compatible with HEED bunker bars? I've looked all over and can't find any mention of it in any other forum.

why did you change the spacer for washers? I do like this plate, and cant beat the price... $139.60 with the linkage guard. Heat gun would do the job just fine!

Have you tried lifting the bike form the skid plate?

I believe the spacers are for longer oil filters.  They cause the skidplate to dip down in front loosing some ground clearance.  With the Yami filter and 3 washers, plate is now level to the frame.

I have a HF moto jack and no problems lifting bike by the plate.

Awesome. Thank you!

Now I just got to figure out if it will work with the AltRider crash bars.
