What have you done for your T7 today?

I finished a 500km route sheet nav ride on Sunday with the brake in ABS mode the entire time. With the "Fix" it was excellent except for the serious marbles on one section and very loose steep windy down hill on the western side of Barrington Tops.

Back tyre was totally trashed at this point which made braking very interesting.

 

Motoz Tractionator Rallz 140 80 18. Around 5000km mix of bitumen, gravel roads, forest roads with a bit of single track thrown in.

I will be sticking with these in future.

Here is my review.  Cyclops has a Tenere 700 specific wiring harness. Makes it easy and safe to wire right into your high and low beam.

For the sake of completeness—it looks way better now with the right clips instead of paper clips (into OEM screws upside down). And zip ties to hold the clips at the bike when the saddle is removed.

I commend you on your thorough-ness but you can just take our your design elements and put them on the  shelf. You don’t need anything there at all. Try it.

Yeah, ya bum keeps the seat in place quite nicely hey

And the rear seat locking down on top of the rear of the front seat's mount.  It's securely held in place even without a bum on it; the key is still required to remove the seat.

Yeah I didn't mention that, I wonder if I could mod the seat a tad or simply lever it up over the overlap?  With the 20L mosko bags on I can't remove the rear and it's a pain in the arse to take them off.  It would be nice to be able to access that storage under the riders seat easily?

Removed my H&B centerstand today. It didn't make much sense with the raised suspension any more, and since I just received the long Camel Toe sidestand (how I love that name) I needed to remove the centerstand anyway to access the sidestand mounting bracket.

 

I guess I won't be missing it much, since a small scissor lift is on its way. Think I will sell the centerstand soon.

Where’d you get the Mivv pipe? Are you happy with it? That’s the one I’m looking at!

I’d assume it’s quite a bit better sounding than the stock pipe with the db killer in. Have you tried it without the db killer? Curious as to how it stacks up compared to the likes of the camel pipe. The Mivv seems to be the only pipe that looks decent with the perfect bend on the market. I’d love the HP corse but it’s just too high for the turn signals and I don’t want to mess with making custom brackets.

Not sure about the actual height of the Mivv, but I'm almost sure you need to relocate the blinkers as well.

 

Regarding the sound, I prefer the Mivv over my HP Corse (which also sounds nice). The Mivv has more grunt when revving it. Both are not louder than the stock pipe (by measurement, HP Corse is actually quieter a bit).

I own one and i'm 100% sure.

Finally installed @Camel ADV's Camel Toe sidestand (+25mm length). "Finally" because I had to wait countless (4) days until my new jack arrived, DHL are on strike at the moment:

Here is why I decided I need a longer stand:

Putting her on the stand now feels like it should: No pronounced flexing any more, very solid feel.

 

The jack lift worked very well, and it wasn't expensive at around 50€. Don't miss the centerstand at all.

 

Installation was not a problem thanks to CamelADV's usual video which shows all traps you can step into. Only thing of concern was a sudden "knack" sound when tightening down the shoulder screw which attaches the sidestand to its mounting plate. This screw was pretty tight before, so I used some force when tightening it. Then I heard (and felt) a sound like from a torque wrench reaching the preset torque 😱

Thought I could have cracked anything, but the same sound/feel appeared when I immediately losened the screw again, after that it went out (and back in) smoothly. No signs of use on the thread. When tightening it again, no unusual sound or feel any more, perhaps using a little bit less force.

Any idea what could have caused this behaviour?

Can't run the straps for the Mosko bags under the rear seat?  I've got a set of 30l MooseADV bags, but I run their straps under the rear so I can still easily pop the seat off; and to hold the straps exactly where I want them.

It sounds better to me over OEM.  There is a significant difference in sound but not obnoxiously loud.  The DB killer will remain in the pipe.  With the MIVV, you will need to relocate the turn signals.  I installed the Tusk fender eliminator along with the Cyclops 3.0 LED turn signals.

Installed a tail tidy kit from AltRider, including the Cyclops LED lights.  What an improvement. It’s incredible to see the pile of plastic parts left over.

Break-in ride for my new Sidi Crossfire boots. Felt like a total noob, shifting up really needs some practice. Also missed the rear brake pedal a few times.

The grip on the calves is so good, like bolted to the bike. I found the boots to be very comfortable after one hour.

 

Also fiddled around with suspension settings especially on the fork. Not happy, probably too much preload on the Tractive springs. Uncomfortably stiff. Will get in contact with my dealer tomorrow.

Just educating myself. Why did you choose this boot?

Protection. This was my main target, since I almost broke a toe last year with my Forma ADV Tourer boots (they call them "ADV" because they have one buckle I guess). This wasn't even a crash, just an unplanned stop during sn offroad training.

 

I found the Sidis to have the best fit for my feet (Gaerne weren't available in my size).

I guess I will need more practice with them to feel comfortable upshifting (downshifts are no problem), probably rise the shift pedal a bit more.

I understand the protection. A side swipe of a hidden stump in a bush came close to    a broken bone. Just bruise. I get it.  I have many boots and when I use the stiffer ones I accentuate the up shift movement. No quick shifts. With my Klim ADV boots I have to use the side of the toe because I can’t get it under the shifter.

Yes, very good point: You need to be focused on upshifts a little bit more. I had my eyes set on Gaerne Fastback Endurance Enduro boots, too - these are flatter and also softer on the toe box, probably of fer a little bit better feedback when shifting. But on the other hand, this is exactly the area where I want protection from my experience. The Sidis are very close to nuclear bomb proof as far as I can tell. And compared to all other boots I've tested their "interlocking" on the calves section when standing is just amazing.
