Great! In Germany we call that helicopter a "carpet beater" based on the sound it makes. Some of them are still in service.

Yep, too much sand/mud/ other nasty Shet hard driving with a big dude and a lot of camping and repair parts kit on the back.

How many miles did you get out of it?

That will be my destination tomorrow.

How was the crossing before climbing to Hill End?

BTW Bridle Track not Bridal! Don't want any accidents out there.

It’s fine, same as usual for the past year or so. Low and not slippery.

When you planning to get there? I might duck out there too.

Yeah Apple correction.

Dan, was going today but 80% chance of storms.

Tomorrow looks like being a nice day so plan on a pub lunch at the Royal Hill End.

I'll join the Bridle Track at Box Ridge Rd

Rode some back roads near Sedona today. Temps there in the low 60's, nice!

These LR tanks don't really improve the looks of a 701.

This year we have an unusual early winter plus snow in northern Germany. 🙄

Temperatures during the night are -10 to -12 °C.  And there's more snow to come. Not the best road conditions to take a ride on a bike. Instead I have fun with my 4x4.

Rediscovered a gravel route I had ridden earlier this year! Was a fun happy-on-throttle kind of ride

  • 2 weeks later...

It's been a couple soggy days. I don't think it's technically been raining, just in and out of some low clouds. Wishing I had a new rear tire!

Played hookey from work to take a 300 mile ride through the mountains to the coast.
I have a personal rule not to ride alone off-road (especially if the road is 32 miles long and muddy)

this is where I turned around and back tracked for a route around. Lowest temp was 35f and highest on the coast was 52. Love my heated gear.
