What have you done for your T7 today?

Myself, I found my steering stem nut held on by only two threads when I got home last night, so decided that was a sign to check the steering bearings and neck tension.  Tore the front end apart, reset the steering head nuts as per the manual, installed the same voltmeter/usb port dealie the other guy above installed - it had been sitting in a box for quite a while once I discovered what a PITA it would be to install it.

All done now, though, tidied up some wiring while I was in there, and ran the USB wire from my quadlock head internally to an adapter inside the fairings instead of to a power adapter in the dash.  I prefer dash usb ports to be able to be covered when not needed, as they love to rust.

......and it turns out I brilliantly turned the bike on to test wiring without having reconnected the dash, so now it's throwing a fault code.  Didn't have time to check and reset it before leaving (and the bike ran fine) but it assume it's a U0155 fault (no communication between ECU and Meter) that just needs to be reset.  Everything else is working fine, just an annoying yellow light.

The steering head was definitely loose.  Maybe it wasn't set up correctly initially, or it backed out on its own, no idea.  But the bike feels MASSIVELY more stable now than it ever has.  I always assumed the looseness of the front was just a factor of the wheel size, but holy crap does it ever feel a lot better now.

There never was any detectable play in the front wheel doing the standard bearing checks, but yeah.  Definitely feels much more stable now, and so substantially that there's no chance it's "oh I did a thing and it's better" psychology.  I never liked riding the T7 with no hands on the bars, now i feel totally comfortable on windy roads hand free.

I should have done this a long time ago.

Fitted some Acerbis swingarm guards, though they might save the swingarm from the exhaust if I forget to bend it back out after a drop.

Didn’t bother with the magnetic fixing crap, seemed a bit pointless having quick release when you need to undo the exhaust. Might be ok with a high level system, just used good old cable ties on the front.

Nice one. I bet it was on before breakfast. 😁.   Worth putting screws in the toolbox holes to keep em clean.

Performed another 4k mile oil and filter change, and installed another AX41 front tire. First time using my new aluminum Motion Pro levers to break a tire's bead, and they do indeed work as well as everyone has said for that purpose.

Only downside was the extra width of the Motion Pro levers made getting them under the tire's bead to lever it over the rim much more of a challenge than when using any of my narrower steel tire irons. Also harder to get just the lip of the lever under the bead to avoid pinching the tube, so that's when I broke out my old levers to finish the job. I'll make due with the Motion Pros on the trail if/when I ever need them there but will pack a short steel lever along with them.

Installed the Twalcom dash relocator. designed and 3D printed and adapter from the AMPS bolt layout to a RAM QuickGrip (also works for the 2 bolt RAM ball mount) and a mount for my chain oiler bulb and tyre pressure monitor.

I like mine- put it on and did 1100 miles in 3 days. I appreciated it ever quickly. Here is my review of it

It was your review that convinced me to pull the trigger on the purchase as well. 😄

In the future I might still work out a solution to put the dashboard to the right of the Phone/GPS.

Which hole did you use? Easiest pull or hardest pull. I use the middle.

After driving her home from the dealer in a torrential thunderstorm Wednesday night, I took her out for 130 miles of backroads and gravel yesterday. Man, what a killer ride! Perfect fall day with 40 miles on the Natchez Trace Parkway and all around that area, including three creek crossings.

Installed the Puig headlight protector after getting home from 150 miles of gravel, dirt, and backroads. Also installed a windshield extender/deflector that I’m hoping will help with wind buffeting and noise. Picked it up on Amazon for $27, so if it doesn’t work, it’s not too much dough. At 5’11”, buffeting and noise is pretty noticeable at 45 mph and insane at 55 mph and up. I also installed the quad lock phone mount and vibration dampener on the accessory bar the other day. She’s coming together!

Ordered Heed Bunker Bars the other day. Hoping they arrive this week, as I’ve got a big day of gravel planned for next Saturday and want to be prepared in case I drop her.

I have had my T7 for a year. I have dropped it many times on Rutted, tight  turning atv trails but never while moving on gravel and forest roads. I ride at a good pace and stand way over the headlight. Then I stop for a photo and drop it getting off. Funny how that works.

Picked up a used scotts steering damper and made my own mounting to it.
Tested it last Sunday and it works amazingly well!

Installed SRC upper and lower crash bars today. Unfortunately had to hack into my SW-Motech to make them fit though, as well as temporarily remove my Cyclops aux lights since the mounting bracket under the headlight is incompatible with the crash bar mounting bracket.

I'm honestly considering just drilling a hole through the bars to directly mount the lights, just so I don't have to spend additional money and wait for whatever mounts I order to arrive.
