Here are a couple other pictures from the back. I even grabbed a piece of 1/8 of plywood to demonstrate there is clearance for the wheel.BBE53799-CC73-4170-BC36-BD4E17B3E12C.thumb.jpeg.1db59f533b01a3a519ee4e7f9f22d149.jpegC122E866-6BD9-4C7A-B30F-5166498F425F.thumb.jpeg.38a5710a872a352adb902dbd149caaff.jpeg6D24CCE8-3ADC-4537-AE6C-AEC4863080DB.thumb.jpeg.6d68c5fd10e66fbe505bc4dcc98ea06a.jpeg

Very nice muffler.  Flows well and sits up where it is supposed to be.  Thanks for the idea.

How is the mounting on that? Do you have any idea if we would have to drill holes in the bike? 😅

I believe from what I read there will be no drilling or cutting like that. Very little info otherwise on the few FB threads about it tho

Guessing they are copying how Huzar mounted.

Only thing yo need to alter on the bike is cut a small 30mmx30mm squareso the mount tab can attach using the same bolt as the OEM bobbins or Rear Rack mount.  It's a 4mm flat piece of Aluminum with a hole drilled at either end.  Check out Huzar's website for the cutout.

It doesn't seem to me...

I rather think they use the original attack but from the back...

We will soon know... as they publish it on their site hpcorse

Motoz RallZ. Tubless, with self installed outex system.

Apart from it being polish, it looks polish too!

I think I rather make something myself from old ventilation- and central heating system-pipes then buying this.

That70sman. The huzar system is exactly what I’ve been looking for, everything tucked in tight to the bike out of harms way, also comparatively at a very reasonable price. Please post the pics of your old ventilation pipe exhaust when done so we can all see your quality work.

I will Stener, but I might just go with the original settings. It sounds and looks better then this chrome tin can. The placement of the exhaust is the only thing I think Yamaha missed a spot to make it perfect.

Obviously you can run them with a Tube as well, there is also the 140 size that would be potentially better for off road. There is a separate thread on the forum for that discussion though 🙂

Anybody figured out a spark arrester for the Huzar pipe?

Theoretically you don't need one as you have a catalytic converter. However, if not, you could definitely wrap the inner DB killer with the appropriate mesh.

Is the db killer the metal disk with holes in it?

Yes. or, there is one at the end as well. the metal disk you could get the right sized mesh, cut a circle of it to fit, drill a couple holes and use washers / nuts and bolts to hold it on. Red loctite it and you would be good.

I have heard that if its checked they stick some piece of wire in the muffler to make sure the spark arrestor is there. in that case I am sure you could winge something up on the back DB killer

But again if you still have the CAT on the bike, its the best stark arrestor you could have 🙂

I ordered a few ready made link pipes for other bikes and only had to cut a few pieces to make the setup work. Paid a local welder 1 hour worth of labor to put everything together.

That setup might not be exactly easy to replicate, but I want to share how I mounted the hanger with folks here, in case it's useful.

I designed a 3d printed piece to be used as a wedge. The part needs to be printed out of TPU. You can change the density of the infill to adjust how 'squishy' it needs to be. It's a perfect press fit, the back side of it is designed to be vertical and dead in the middle of where the center of any 51mm pipe would be if it's pressed against the stock hanger.

The 3d printed part also has M6 holes builtin, this can be used a drill guide, as the 2 sides are not square and the holes need to be drilled at an angle in some areas.

I used T6 aluminum I have and drilled the holes then sandwiched the TPU part. Because the geometry of the part and the stock hanger, once bolted on, the part will not move. As an added bonus, the TPU also provides dampening effect as it is not 100% rigid.

Here is my high level exhaust.

The silencer is from UK based SP Engineering - Short Oval Carbon/Carbon.

The Yamaha hangar has been cut off, and a new bracket fabricated at high level within the fairing.  Once the silencer was positioned, a new stainless steel link pipe has been fabricated, routeing it in such a way to keep the pillion peg fitted.  There is plenty of clearance between the swing arm and the rear tyre.  I'll put up some more pics of the new bracket, and shots from the rear showing tyre/swingarm clearance.

Chose to go down this route as nothing on offer from any manufacturer or specialist tickled my ticklish bits.  Everything was either too long, too low, too long & too low or just plain ugly.  I didn't want to tackle the ugly exhaust issue by lifting it with one of the already out there (or in development...) kits, to then have the silencer tip at point blank range of the rear indicator.  After watching a video on YouTube by an Australian biker - Nerb1, and seeing his modified high level silencer/bracket I felt it was the most complimentary solution I had seen yet.  It was the motivation I needed that has led to what you see in these images.

The bracket is not complex.  It's a fiddly location to work in, and mild tear down is needed to carry out the installation.

Wow, now that just looks RIGHT.  I don't really care for the look of the other options out there right now. Besides just learning to FALL LEFT 😂😂😂, I'm going to wait and see how my Reckless80 sits before going any route... can't be burnin' my bags.

I have the Huzar on its way, and I’ve read that it will point directly at the blinker. Some go for a sligthly longer bracket, but wouldn’t it be possible to wrap the backside (exposed) part of the blinker with some heat reflective alu tape?

Well my system showed up in only 19 days to my door in Oregon! 40cm can, shorter connecting pipe that’s normally used with the 50cm can. Kicked the muffler out slightly to try and help save the turn signals but we’ll see how that goes (Already have another turn option in hand I know will work if it gets cooked) .....
