Hello
Has anyone installed the Enduristan Base Pack on Yamaha OEM Crash bars?
Do they fit well?
Pictures?

I'm still trying to the find the best way to mount my touratech endurance bags (30lt each) to this bike.

I came across this side luggage rack from a Lituanian producer called Batanga that only costs 90€ and looks well made.

In theory you could then mount any brand of soft luggage to them. I might give these a try soon. Other similar racks cost triple the price and I don't see much difference between the different manufacturers. It has 3 connection points on each side and a bar across. He even makes a version with the T7 logo. I think if these work well than it would be one of the best and cheapest solutions for mounting side soft luggage bags. They are also compatible with the orignal yamaha top rack which is important.

I'm interested in these too. The only downside to these imo, is how far they stick out.

Really wish there was an option like the ADV Spec side racks, but with Yamaha's OEM rear rack..

I used the Lomo crash bar bags on my Yamaha OEM crash Bars. Way cheaper than Enduristan and they fit well.

I don’t see Caribou Cases discussed on this forum. The S10 crowd uses them quite a bit. It’s a great hard luggage option that is nearly indestructible. Affordable as well.

I posted this under another thread but it is appropriate here. Looking for the T7 to be a travel bike as opposed to a dirt bike, I wanted soft luggage with an option for hard luggage later for motel/road only trips. I like the Bumot stuff and they publish widths with each luggage option for the bikes they have stuff for. So I went with the Bumot luggage racks and rear rack with their Xtremeda soft luggage. I think I am going to like it a lot!

And I know someone will ask about the width!

Now I just need a nice November warm spell to go camping with it!

Love the look of both hard and soft bumot. I have the different widths for the different hard case options, but cannot see the soft option. What is the width outside edge to outside edge? So the total width. For example the 40/36 hard luggage is 98 cm wide. Thanks mate

The ruler shot in the picture (in inches) has 0 on the other end, so that is the actual total width, 37" plus or minus. Which according to my conversion math right at 94 cm.

The base bags are 8" (20.3 cm) each but the cutout on the exhaust side is only 6 1/2" (16.5 cm). The frame outside to outside is 22 1/2 " (57.1 cm). Since they are soft bags, I suppose overstuffing them will make them fatter but that gets you the idea.

I am looking forward to warmer weather to load them up for camping. At this point, I am not sure I ever even want hard luggage!

Great feedback. I could not tell that the ruler was the full width, plus being in inches confused me. This forum seems a lot more friendly than some of the Facebook sites. Lots of negativity and trolling going on. Think I will use the forum more from now on. Ride safe.

SW Motech DryBag 700 70ltr Waterproof Touring Tail Bag

I wanted one bag to carry it all.  I wanted a bag that didn't hang low nor sit on my backside or be a worry for obstacle clearance.  I can sit the bag forward as a backrest for highway cruising or as pic'd for offroad.  Handlebars are 37" wide, bag is 32", my body sitting, arms at the side, hands knee side, palms down is 28".  All of the heavy items (chair, cookset, food, hammock, clothes, etc.) sit below Molle panel height.  Above that is the tent, sleeping pad, trail stand, and tire irons which sits on the floor of the bag so bag straddles the rack. Above those is the loose sleeping bag.  All of the weight sits 4" above the seat down.  It removes in one minute with 4 clips, and using the shoulder strap clipped to the rack as insurance.  Molle bottle holders for fuel/water bottles, water purifier, and plastic bags.  I couldn't feel bag affecting moving bike around the garage.  Test ride will occur next dry spell I'm not out dirt/MTB riding.

@ MotoCP, i think the rackless 40 fits  perfect  to  the bike. No issues at all. Want to keep the bike as light as possible.

after having seen a Video of  Nerb1 who had broken parts on the plastic side panels due to the weight , i think of mounting the AS side panels. I can easily mount  it  with a 30 ltr center bag as well.

I have the Kriega rackfree system (OS-18 + OS Base) and I also am thinking about adding the AS racks, however I have the Outback Motortek rear rack and I am wondering if this is going to be compatible.

@Explorer: i think it is too tight to fit with a wider rack. Even the AS Rack could  be too wide. I still Not know what to do.

i think i will try  the Summer Trip to the italian and Slowenien TET as you see it on the pics, knowing that the points  where upper and lower parts of the rear plastic Covers are United are the weak  Point. Know someone who broke  them with the Weight  of the sidebags.

I haven't read all 13 pages of this thread, so this may have been covered already.  Unfortunately,  the plan to run my Mosko R40 bags on my T7 didn't get very far. After throwing them over the seat it's very evident that the R40 was designed for a narrow dual sport vs the wider seat and girth of an ADV.  Pics I've seen of the R80 appear to be a good fit, but unless the newer version of the R40 allows for a wider center section, these aren't going to work very well.

That's a bummer. I am fitting the R80 with a Tusk top rack. I need to bring the bike inside to get some 3M paint protective film on the plastic before I mount the holster to the bike. I am curious about how it will look when done.

Mosko is having a sale so I ended up ordering the reckless 80. It looks like the perfect set up for soft bags and I know the quality is there.

i had some Bumot hard panniers I saved off my super Tenere but in correspondence with the US distributor it seems like they changed the racks slightly, so my bags would not fit without me drilling holes and moving hardware around. I did not want to take a chance on doing that and the bags sitting at some odd height or something, plus drilling holes means I have to fill other holes so they will be waterproof. The RACKS and stuff were going to be just a little under the cost of the Mosko setup so I just decided to go for that, will be thinner, and less weight.

Mike

Mounting the R80 here also. Getting 3M PPF on the plastics is my last holdup. Probably need to bring the bike inside so it's warm. Weather has been a pita!

I've used both those ,  sw-m 35L & endur Blizz L, imo, there's really no huge benefits w/ either. it's whatever you want to go with. One negative  w/ side bag, if you lay the bike down while riding, bag can/will tear. .

neg. for duffle/tail bag= interferes w/ getting on & off seat.

with each, the stock, provided straps alone didn't secure them tight enough to bike.  i've had to add additional rok straps around them to decrease/elim movement.

I have landed on and dragged my Mosko R80 all over the place. No tears and barely any scuffing. Very, very tough if that's your concern. Highly recommend. They also do double duty with excellent soft crash protection.

@Amani. You should be fine with the R80.  Others have had success,  it just didn't work out well with my Gen 1 R40. I ended up with hard cases for the occasional trips, but mostly just run without them.

Lol I know I just mounted tires when it was 25 degrees out, today it was 20, and I need to go take the rear off for a warranty claim but I just can’t muster up the drive to go out in the cold!

the R80 is pretty nice, are you planning on having a rear rack to tie it to? I wrapped the back straps around the t700 tail until my rear rack showed up.

instead of the film, you could get a decent set of side racks like the adventure spec, or rally raid. Rally raid even has a reinforcement for the exhaust hanger.

Yeah, I just installed a Tusk rear rack today. I have been eyeing both the Rally Raid and the AS solutions. I like the RR extra exhaust support. Seems it needs all the help it can get. I also wonder about compatibility now btwn my Tusk rack and the AS protection. Trying to keep the weight minimized back there. You know..., so I can carry a bunch more crap on long trips. 😁

Sorta like this. I still need to find a minimal rear rack to strap it to.

It appears yours are brand new. After getting used to all the straps you'll love it. I did a two month, 9k mile trip through the west/northwest with mine. Hardly even knew they were there. I can't wait to take off with them on this bike.

I can't tell from the photos. Are the holster bottoms strapped to the passenger pegs? Is the middle portion of your setup sitting exactly where a pillion would sit or farther back? Thanks.

Yes the bottom straps connected to the passenger pegs, which are now removed so I’m going to need to put some loops there.  The beavertail was positioned slightly back from where a passenger would sit.  You are correct it’s brand new as of Xmas. R80. I took the photos while test fitting with my normal camping gear loaded. Have plenty of extra room.
